Origin: from smooth muscles.
Sites: uterus is the most common, GIT,
bladder.
Grossly: single or multiple, rounded, firm
and pale brown. C.S whorled pattern, non
capsulated.
Microscopically: interlacing bundles of
smooth muscle fibers separated by
fibrovascular sytroma.
8. Fibromyoma )(Leiomyoma
1.Section in tumour tissue.
2.Tumour is noncapsulated.
3.Tumour consists of interlacing bundles
of fusiform cells with fusiform nuclei with
rounded ends.
4.No hemorrhage.
5.No necrosis.
14. Lipoma
Origin: from fatty tisues.
Sites:
S.C. of the arm, back, submucosa and
retroperitoneum.
Grossly:
Capsulated, round or oval, lobulated soft and
yellow.
Microscopically:
Lobules of mature fat cells with vacuolated
cytoplasm and small nuclei , separated by
vascularized connective tissue septa and
covered by thin fibrous capsule.
21. Chondroma
Origin: from cartilage.
Sites: Short bones )Fingers) and flat bones.
Grossly: Capsulated, rounded or oval,
lobulated hard, bluish, solitary or multiple.
Microscopically: composed of lobules of
cartilage )clear) cells with central nclei, pale
blue hyaline matrix and fibrovascular septa.
