2. Comparatives of Nouns
To make a comparison or differentiation
between two nouns, use más / menos +
noun + que.
 Hoy hay menos gente que ayer en el
teatro.


To make a comparison between two similar
nouns, use: tanto(a) + noun + como.
Since tanto is an adjective, it should agree with
the noun in both gender (masculine or feminine)
and number (singular or plural).
Hoy hay tanto público como ayer en el teatro.
Hoy hay tantas personas como ayer en el
teatro.

The superlative is used to say something is the
“most” or the “least.”
To express the superlative comparison use:
el/la/los/las + noun + más/menos + adjective.
El concierto más emocionante fue el de ayer.
Para mí, la obra menos divertida es “Algún
día.”

When mejor and peor are used as
superlatives, the following construction is
used:
 el/la/los/las + mejor(es)/peor(es) + noun
 Pienso que Alejandra Ruíz es la mejor
bailarina.
 ¡Ustedes son los peores cantantes!

