because the inventors lacked connections and
resources to bring them to market?
With the planet on the brink of an ecological
disaster, can we afford to let innovations that could
save the planet lie in obscurity?
No. They need to be shouted from the rooftops of
the world

The Futuron Awards are an EAI initiative that brings
to limelight Indian sustainable/cleantech
innovations that would have otherwise never come
to light
The Awards will have a special focus on the small
inventors with limited resource base and access

If you have a green innovation and are
• An individual or organisation in India with at least
one successful pilot project or several customer
installations in India
• An individual or organisation with less than 20
employees and less than Rs. 20 crores in turnover
you are eligible for the awards

Futuron Award winners receive extensive publicity
across EAI’s vast media assets, including
• EAI Daily – India’s largest and most popular
cleantech focused newsletter, going out thrice a
week to 40,000 subscribers
• EAI Club – India’s only online community
dedicated to renewable energy and cleantech
with 15,000 members
• EAI Site – India’s most popular hub for
renewable energy and cleantech professionals
and enthusiasts with 5,000 visitors every day
As India’s foremost research and consulting firm in
renewable energy/clean tech, EAI’s network
extends across the length and breadth of the green
industry, and encompasses VCs, PEs, policy
makers, developers, manufacturers, and NGOs
across the world

The nomination form for the awards can be found
here
• You can nominate yourself for the awards, or
nominate anyone else whom you know
• The awards are run on the basis of themes. The
theme for October-December 2013 is
Renewable/
Sustainable energy. Subsequent themes will be
announced on the event webpage
• The innovation can be anything from new
sources of clean energy to new ways of using
clean energy; even an innovative business
model based on clean energy can be nominated
• Any innovator – scientist, engineer, farmer,
housewife – from any part of India can be
nominated for the awards
• No fees are charged for nominations, and
multiple innovations from the same innovator

Only innovations that have at least one successful
pilot project or a few customer installations are
eligible for the awards
Innovations are evaluated on the basis of
• Impact on sustainability
• Impact on society
• Scalability
• Creativity/Uniqueness
• Longevity
