4. INTRODUCTION :-

universally acceptable ones such as
IQ, M.A., etc., should be avoided in the main text of
the research report.

7. Style of Writing:
The research report should have a
creative, clear and concise style. Although the
phraseology should be dignified and straight
forward, it need not be dull or pedantic.
Objectivity is the primary goal, not exhortation of
persuasion, the research report should describe
and explain rather than convince or move to
action.
8. STANDARD FORMAT OF THESIS:
It deals with results of completed research
work. After completion a research work is generally
produced in the written from called research report
or thesis. It provides a detailed description of
research activities. It has a variety of formats vary in
length. It is written on past tense and in third person.
It is the final form of the research work.
9. PURPOSE OF REPORT WRITING:
•Expansion of knowledge
•Presenting the conclusions for information
•Verification of validity
Problems of preparation of report:
•Problem of language
•Problem of technical terms
•Problem of objectivity
•The problem of publication of facts and
quasitruths
10. Precautions in report writing:
•There should be no haste in writing report. The reporter
should have patience in his job.
•The language of the report should be generally according to
the level of the expected readers.
•The presentation of the report should be logically connected
and systematic.
•As per as possible the technical terms should also be
explained in simple language.
•Comments and notes should be inserted in brief wherever
required.
•Tables, charts, graphs, maps and photographs should be
used wherever required.
•Detailed and systematic reference of the works connected in
report should give.

•To report the research in full.
•To subject its results to criticism and verification.
•To make the research work communicable to the
general public for the practical use.
•To encourage other persons to take up some
problems for future investigation.
•To suggests some new problems for future studies as
the research report.
•To give shape and form to the investigation and
solidify it.
•To provide a clear picture of research method, sample
and techniques used in conducting the research work.
•To popularize the new contribution in that discipline.

•Lists of figures, maps and illustration
