INFORMATION ACQUISITION IMMEDIATE APPLICATIONS Students will be able to use search engines and other multimedia tools Students must be able to cross reference information to determine validity. PROBLEM SOLVING ADVANCED APPLICATION Students will be able to determine the tools needed to complete projects and to solve problems Students must be able to use basic technology skills and to transfer skills to other forms of media tools. COMMUNICATION LONG-TERMGOALS Students will be able to create personal networks and to collaborate with peers and others via current merging technology Students are familiar with different methods of communication, using technological tools.

8. SUMMARY Our state, districts, schools and administrators must work in collaboration to ensure that the students of Texas are prepared to compete and to function successfully after completing their formal education. The STaR chart helps to guide our progress and it shows the community that we are working towards providing technology education for all students. In order to reach our long-term goals in technology competency, we must continue to provide the tools as well as the opportunities for using technology.
