9. DON’T GIVE UP
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The
animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to
figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was
old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just
wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his
neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed
a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
LUKE15:4
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and
cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer
finally looked down the well.

11. DON’T GIVE UP
He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of
dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something
amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As
the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top
of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped
up over the edge of the well and happily trotted
off!1KINGS4:34; JOB 28:17&18; PS111:10; PROV4:12
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick
to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of
the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake
it off and take a step up. Never lose hope.

18. BUILDING A LIFE
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire, and he told his boss of
his plans to leave and live a more leisurely life with his wife. He
would miss the pay check, but he needed to retire. They could get
by.
The contractor was sorry to see such a good worker go, and he
asked the carpenter to build just one more house as a personal
favour. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that
his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship
and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a
dedicated career.
When the carpenter finished his work, the employer came to
inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter.
“This is your house,” he said. “It is my gift to you.”
19. BUILDING A LIFE
The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known
he was building his own house, he would have done it all so
differently.
So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting
less than our best into the building. Then with a shock we realize
we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over,
we’d do it much differently. But we cannot go back…
You are the carpenter of your life. Each day you hammer a nail,
place a board, or erect a wall. Your attitudes and the choices you
make today build your “house” for tomorrow… Build wisely!
Ask God to be the Master-builder of your life! He will show you
how to build a strong foundation for the ‘house’ of your life.

23. GRATITUDE
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the
young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.
Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him
into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to
have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He
handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but
somewhat Disappointed, the young man opened the box and found
a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name
embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and
said, "With all your money you give me a Bible? And stormed out
of the house, leaving the Bible.
24. GRATITUDE
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but
realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go
to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he
could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his
father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.
He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret
filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important
papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His
father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11.
25. GRATITUDE
Matt 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which
is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words,
a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the
dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had
desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the
words...PAID IN FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times do we miss
God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? I
trust you enjoyed this. Do not spoil what you have by desiring
what you have not; but remember that what you now have was
once among the things you only hoped for...

IT'S BECAUSE IT IS BETTER PACKED THAT WAY!
ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU
