Alquat CLA is a bleach bath accelerator designed to catalyze the faster formation of active bleaching species from sodium hypochlorite, improving productivity and reducing the amount of hypochlorite needed. As a cationic surfactant, Alquat CLA minimizes backstaining. It can reduce the chlorine bleach concentration by over 50% and processing time in half, lowering fabric damage and reducing quantities of antichlor and peroxide required in subsequent steps. This leads to a more eco-friendly and cost-effective bleaching process. Alquat CLA is also beneficial when bleaching tencel blends, reducing damage to the fabric and fibrillation of tencel fibers.

2. Alquat CLA is a bleach bath accelerator
designed for catalyzing faster formation of
active bleaching species resulting in
enhanced productivity and optimizing the
quantity of hypo chloride required.
Alquat CLA is nitrogen containing surface-
active agent. Due to its cationic character it
also minimizes back staining.

4. Features:

half the reduction in time to achieve the same bleach effects.

6. Benefits in processing of tencel blends:
Tencel is a regenerated cellulosic fibre, advantageously
used with cotton to give improved aesthetics and
comfort. However tencel is easily damaged while
bleaching with Sodium hypochlorite.
Alquat BBA reduces the damage to the blended
garment due to the reduction in the processing time as
well as reduction in the damage due to Sodium
hypochlorite solution.
It also lowers the excessive fibrillation of tencel, which
normally requires a biopolishing operation to be
carried out subsequently

7. Application:
• It is a highly active chlorine bleach accelerant,
& hence small amounts are sufficient to permit
a high percentage reduction in chlorine bleach
concentration.
• As a starting point, use 1.0-2.0% . Alquat-CLA
& cut the amount of chlorine bleach by 50%.
Other modifications of the bleach cycle, such as
time should be made after the initial
evaluations. Add the Alquat-CLA to the bath
and agitate to uniformly disperse throughout
the load prior to addition of the chlorine
bleach. Peroxide neutralization may be
required if whiter, brighter shades are desired.

8. Sand Blast Effect:
Here Alquat CLA in thickened form is applied by brush or
sprayed on the garment followed by line drying,
subsequent bleaching step results in the
sprayed/painted areas being lighter in contrast to the
rest of the garment
Alquat CLA may be applied in a pattern by a hand brush
on all the parts of the garment which need to be high
lighted, followed by drying, subsequent conventional
bleaching with hypochlorite achieves the desired results.
Alquat CLA may be screen-printed followed by drying
and bleaching. This allows various different motifs and
prints to be achieved on the garment.
