2. Martin Luther King Timeline of Courage April, 1944 On the way to school, one day the bus driver told him to “get up” for the white kids but he didn’t get up until his teacher told him it wasn’t worth the fight. That showed courage because he was risking getting in to big trouble or getting arrested just so he could stay seated. Pg. 26 He was threatened by phone calls telling him to leave town or else they would kill him. He stayed in town to work. That shows courage because he is staying in town even though he could be risking his and his families life.
3. Pg. 36 When a deranged black woman stabbed a letter opener into his chest he said “do not prosecute her heal her.” That shows courage because he is looking out for other peoples well beings besides his well being, when really he needed more help at the time. When he said “ Lord, I hope as a result of our struggle for freedom in Montgomery certainly I do not want to die. But if anyone has to die, let it be me. That shows courage because he would rather die and have freedom than not die and not have freedom. Pg.48 Pg. 64 When he said “nothing will stop me, not death threat, not a fourth child, nothing. That shows courage because he would ignore family and friends and things people don’t usually ignore just so we can all have peace. Timeline of Courage Continued
