3. During the Taste Week, ( 17 to 23 October 2011 ), children from
Kindergarten have tasted flavors from eastern Europe. Turkish
delight and various pastries were offered to them. Children, after
a moment of hesitation, willingly tasted. Many have appreciated.

4. Children studied the breakfast of
partner countries.
Try it !
I asked Kindergarten pupils to choose
from these breakfasts and create their
ideal breakfast.
A dozen children kindly explained what
they would eat in the morning...
5. FRANCE : Bon appétit !
The traditional French breakfast ( Le petit-déjeuner )
consists of croissants or slices of bread (the famous
‘baguette’) with butter or jam. Generally, the French drink
coffee, tea or milk chocolate. French children prefer
chocolate cereal.
6. ITALIE : Buon appetito !
In Italy, breakfast (The colazione) is pretty sweet. The
Italians eat cookies (small croissants called "cornetti") or
brioche ("ciambella") and drink coffee, hot chocolate or
cappuccino (coffee with whipped cream and cocoa powder).

7. POLOGNE : Smacznego !
Polish breakfast (S'niadanie) is rich and varied. It usually
consists:
• a glass of fruit juice, a cup of weak coffee or tea or
coffee with milk
• of various meats (ham, sausage, pâté)
• thin slices of cheese
• a boiled egg
• tomato slices
• radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers
• honey or jam
• rye bread or wheat flour bread.
• from "zupa mleczna": milk soup with cereals.
8. PORTUGAL : Bom apetite !
The Portuguese take their breakfast (Pequeno almoço)
quite late (around 9:30 or 10am). It consists of bread,
toasted or not. Most often, this is rustic bread,
spread with jam, quince jelly (marmelada) or topped
with cheese, ham, cherries or tomatoes. The drink is
usually a bowl of milk, coffee, tea or chocolate.
9. ROYAUME-UNI : Enjoy your meal !
UK breakfast is famous ! ( The full english breakfast). It
usually consists of a boiled egg, scrambled egg or fried egg
served with a slice of bacon, fried sausages, grilled kidneys,
kippers or haddock, 'baked beans' (beans in tomato sauce) and
toast with orange or lemon marmalade. Porridge (oats boiled in
milk) is also served.
For the drink : a cup of tea with milk or coffee.
Prepare such a breakfast is time consuming. It is for this
reason that most English are satisfied with a cup of coffee or
tea with toast and jam on weekdays.
10. TURQUIE : Afiyet Oksun !
The Turkish breakfast (Turk Kahvaltisi - kahvalti means "under
the coffee" : you drink tea for breakfast and you end up with a
cup of coffee) is quite different from the traditional French
breakfast.
The base of the breakfast is quite traditional: black or green
olives, jam, honey, butter, cheese (feta), tomatoes, cucumbers
and of course tea to drink preferably in a glass that is a must in
Turkey !
But from there anything goes. There are also often fried
potatoes, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs or omelette, salami,
cheese pide or pide with meat, poğaça (brioche rolls nature or
stuffed with cheese or meat ) ...

11. Children have learned to recognize the flags of our
Comenius partners. They can locate each country on the
map of Europe. They can also mention the names of
capitals. They will perform a song about it during the
festival's Saturday, June 2, 2012.
14. This workshop, for children aged 5 years, is part of the
Comenius project. Indeed, children from kindergarten learn
about their European neighbors, and therefore, have to work
especially on the respective flags of our partners. These
achievements have been possible with the help of our
intervening in Visual Arts, Gael Bernon, Fridays, by rotation in
small groups; other children stay in the classroom with the
teacher. These flags are made of pieces of tile and hung on the
walls of the kindergarten, next to other mosaics made in
previous years. The project logo is being created ... The mosaic
will be unveiled in the presence of our project partners, early
June.
19. Pupils made a mobile 'Flags
of Europe' and one for each
partner country: they European flags mobile
painted the 'roof' of the
mobile in the colors of the
flag. We looked for pictures
on the internet (map of the
country, name of the
capital, famous monuments,
typical culinary dishes,
etc ...), we observed them
and then they were hung on
the mobile. Than Poland,
Portugal and Turkey are in
progress.
22. Children aged 5-6 years have gone on a school trip to Paris.
They took the train from Moulins to Paris. A bus transported us
to the capital. We did a boat trip on the Seine. We took the
subway. There was a lot of people but it was great ! Monuments
(Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, City
Hall, Opera House, Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, ...) are
magnificent. What memories !

27. The paintings for Portugal and Turkey are in progress ...
The partners will see them at the meeting in France in
late May.
Children are using the computer to make a booklet about
the ID forms of partner countries. (Country name, flag,
location on the map of Europe, the name of capital, the
official currency, the official language, the typical culinary
dish, the words 'hello' and 'goodbye' in the local language)
