39. Augmenting the reality: examples
The augmentation of a real image of the patient on the operating table with his
computer tomography scans gives the surgeons the impression of looking through
the skin and throughout the various layers of the body in 3-dimensions and in
color. The 3D perspective of the AR information is updated when the surgeon
changes his point of view on the scene.

40. Spatial Applications
Medical diagnostics or surgery can be enhanced by augmenting the body-view
with a virtual X-ray view, visualization of anatomical elements, tomography, or
real time images from ultrasound or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance devices.

41. Spatial Applications
• The Webcam Social Shopper app allows you to
seemingly hold articles of clothing up in front of
yourself, while it tracks your movements so you can
interact with the site's content when standing several
feet away from your computer's controls.
