Customer should facilitate Navi/Uni sphere access for EMC storage in order to manage storage
during the activity.

Establish Network connectivity between an SPA and the Management station using its IP
address

SPA & SPB Details

1. Access the Uni sphere management console of the SPA using internet explorer with
following URL : http://10.230.x.x
2. Browse the hardware tab and identify the enclosure Bus 1 Enc 0. Right click on the
enclosure and ON the identifier LED.
3. Verify the status of the disk at Bus 1 Enclosure 0 Disk 1. Drive is already failed & a hot
spare is rebuilt. So you may remove failed drive. Identify the disk physically & by
unisphere.
4. Replace the hard disk at Bus 1 Enclosure 0 Disk 1 with new one.
5. Note: - When removing a disk module, pull the module part away out of the slot, then
wait for 15 seconds for the Disk to spin down before completely removing it, go
ahead with replacement.
6. Verify from the Navisphere console, if the replaced disk is flagged now with sign âTâ
(Transitioning. Disk will rebuild and status becomes optimal. Once the first drive
rebuild is completed, proceed with second drive replacement.
7. Replace 2
nd
failed drive at Bus 1 Enclosure 0 Disk 9 with new one.
8. Verify from the Navisphere console, if the replaced disk is flagged now with sign âTâ
(Transitioning. Disk will rebuild and status becomes optimal.
