PRIVATE DOMAIN REGISTRATION
When you register a domain, your name, address, email address and phone number
are made available to anyone who wants to see it. Your personal information is
exposed 24 hours a day, everyday, to anyone, anywhere. You have the power to
change this. With a Go Daddy private (“unlisted”) registration, registering a domain
name doesn’t mean sacrificing your privacy.

Your new or existing domain is registered in the name of Domains By Proxy®
(a Go Daddy affiliate company)—so their information is made public—not yours. Your
information stays private, but you retain full benefits of domain registration. You can
cancel, sell, renew or transfer your domain; set-up name servers for your domain;
and resolve disputes involving your domain.

SUCCESS STORY
As an interior designer in Dallas, Dona Rosene knew she had to have something that
would make her business stand out from the crowd.

While her colorful rooms definitely showcased the talent of her full-service studio,
Dona knew that many clients would be looking for something that would provide an
overview of her services and her success.

And so, www.DonaRoseneInteriors.com was born. Her full-fledged Web site,
registered through Go Daddy and utilizing the company’s hosting and deluxe
email accounts, not only lists her contact information and accreditation, but also
provides photos of rooms she has designed.

“My Web developer recommended Go Daddy because of its pricing and its
easy-to-use tools, said Rosene. However, her Web developer soon had to move on
                 ”
and Dona was left with a site she knew nothing about. After having issues with
another Web developer, she decided to try working with Go Daddy directly. To her

delight, she found that dealing with Go Daddy was easier than dealing with any of
her developers.”I called Go Daddy’s customer support and the representative helped
me put my site online, fixing my problems with my pictures and helping me make the
site more cohesive,” said Rosene. “I am not a computer person at all. That is why I
am thankful that my first Web developer recommended Go Daddy.”

Since posting the site online, Rosene has received many calls for her services, which
includes both residential and commercial projects. As someone who bases her career
on customer service, she said she recognizes the value of Go Daddy’s pricing but
appreciates the value of Go Daddy’s customer service.

“I would have nothing if not for Go Daddy’s help,” said Rosene. “Go Daddy was the
easiest, most helpful technical service I have had since I started this Web site. It is
available whenever I need it, and they answer their phones every hour of every day
without fail.”

ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS
Why You Need a Merchant Account
A Merchant Account lets you accept credit card purchases through your
e-Commerce site. Your Merchant Account provider will authorize credit card
purchases, process them and deposit the funds into your account. A Merchant
Account helps you to not only increase sales, but also cut paperwork and reduce risk.
A Merchant Account, however, does not provide a shopping cart; only the means to
process credit card transactions. Go Daddy offers Standard U.S., Specialty, and
International merchant accounts.

BRAND IDENTITY
Ever heard the story about the Web entrepreneur who built a booming business on
his .COM, only to find a competitor making money off his identity by registering the
.NET version of the entrepreneur’s domain name? Unfortunately, it’s not just a story.

This technique of buying up domains that are similar to existing business domain
names, then demanding extraordinary fees to sell them, is called cyber-squatting.
Although there are laws to protect those with a legitimate claim to a particular
domain name, it can be cheaper to buy the domain name than to sue the
cybersquatter.

To avoid this, many companies register multiple domain names containing their
primary name. So in addition to registering yourpersonaldomainname.COM, they also
register yourpersonaldomainname.INFO, yourpersonaldomainname.BIZ,
yourpersonaldomainname.MOBI and so on. By taking related domain names out of
circulation, they can be sure no one else will be able to infringe on their online brand.
And, of course, keep these domain names for their own future use.

Chapter 4 - Marketing Your Web Site

GETTING TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEB SITE
Driving visitors to your site is one of the greatest, and most important, challenges on the
Web. We’ve already discussed some effective and affordable ways to increase traffic and
market your Web site, Go Daddy’s Business and Protected Registrations (see page 5).
But perhaps the most powerful tool for boosting your site’s traffic is making sure your
site is optimized for search engines. Your Web site may be perfect, but if it’s not designed
and organized in a way that makes sense to search engines, it may never be seen. Traffic Blazer® makes it easy to

A Trademark is a word, name, symbol or device which indicates the source of a
product and distinguishes it from the products of others. A service mark identifies
and distinguishes the source of a service instead of a product. Trademarks are issued

selling the same products under a clearly different mark.

THE GO DADDY 10-POINT VALUE PLAN
Go Daddy delivers superior value to customers by adhering to a
10-point value plan, ensuring that it is the very best choice for
your domain name and Web services needs.

1. Guaranteed renewal price.
You’ll never pay more to renew your domain name than the rate you paid
when you initially registered it, or what Go Daddy’s registration rate was
when you transferred. (The only exceptions would be if the price the registry
charges increased, or if you took advantage of a limited-time, special price.
If the registry increases our cost, yours will go up by no more than the same
      percentage ours did.)

2. Risk-free, money-back guarantee transfers.
A domain transfer occasionally fails. This is usually due to your former
registrar trying to keep your money, even though that registrar is legally
required to comply with your transfer request. With Go Daddy, you’re
protected by a Rapid Transfer System™ that saves time and eliminates
errors, extracting critical information automatically. You no longer need to
find it and type it yourself. And there’s a Transfer Concierge team trained,
dedicated and available to you 24/7. Lastly, Go Daddy transfers are
absolutely risk free and fully refundable. If your transfer to Go Daddy fails
for any reason, you will be notified and issued a refund. Guaranteed.

3. More free, value-added services with every domain.
Go Daddy is proud to have you as a customer and wants you to get the
most out of your domain ownership. With every domain purchase, you
receive all the following, FREE: Personalized Email; Hosting with Web Site
Builder; Quick Blogcast; Photo Album; Change of Registrant; Parked or
   “For Sale” Page; Domain Locking; Status Alerts; Domain Forwarding;
Domain Masking; Total DNS Control and 100 Email Forwards.

4. Consistently lower prices on everything we offer.
It starts with low-cost domains. But it extends to everything else Go Daddy
develops and offers. Like hosting accounts; domain services; fraud-, spam-,

BRAND IDENTITY Ever heard the story about the Web entrepreneur who built a booming business on his .COM, only to find a competitor making money off his identity by registering the .NET version of the entrepreneur’s domain name? Unfortunately, it’s not just a story. This technique of buying up domains that are similar to existing business domain names, then demanding extraordinary fees to sell them, is called cyber-squatting. Although there are laws to protect those with a legitimate claim to a particular domain name, it can be cheaper to buy the domain name than to sue the cybersquatter. To avoid this, many companies register multiple domain names containing their primary name. So in addition to registering yourpersonaldomainname.COM, they also register yourpersonaldomainname.INFO, yourpersonaldomainname.BIZ, yourpersonaldomainname.MOBI and so on. By taking related domain names out of circulation, they can be sure no one else will be able to infringe on their online brand. And, of course, keep these domain names for their own future use.
