• la Smart Cities and Communites European Innovation Partnership,
• le Societal Challenges di Horizon 2020,
• gli impegni per l’ambiente urbano della strategia Europa 2020, ecc., ecc.

7. Perché una Smart City?
• La definizione:“…they are territories with a high
capacity for learning and innovation, which is built-in
to the creativity of their population, their institutions of
knowledge creation and their digital infrastructure for
communication”. …. [and are concerned] with people
and the human capital side of the equation, rather
than blindly believing that IT itself can automatically
transform and improve cities.” Holland (2008: 306).
• Lo scopo: trovare modi di affrontare questa
urbanizzazione in rapida crescita, attraverso
l’identificazione ed il coinvolgimento delle comunità in
grado di contribuirne allo sviluppo e gestirne il
cambiamento anche mediante l'utilizzo di tecnologie
informatiche intelligenti applicate a infrastrutture e
servizi principali (assistenza sanitaria, istruzione,
edifici, trasporti, utilities, amministrazione della città e
la sicurezza pubblica).

Selex ES route to “future”
Smart Cities
Selex ES is implementing these concepts in Expo
2015, the international exposition that will take place
in Milan from April to October 2015. Expo 2015 will
model in its site a “Digital Smart City“ approach and
as the Official Global Partner for the “Safe City &
Main Operation Center” we will provide:
• an Operation Center able to monitor and support
this Large Event
• Secure Professional networks to guarantee the
staff communications
• Field sensors and systems addressing security
needs
• Integration and correlation of heterogeneous
infrastructures to create a single common
situational awareness for the Event Operations
The «Safe City & Main Operation Center» platform is the core of the new Selex ES’ Smart
City Operating System for the integration, interoperability and governance of all city
subsystems
