1. Weekly News from WCUMC-10/28/2012
Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world.
"Faith Promise Commitment Sunday
Life Commitment Sunday"
As a climax to our Mission Emphasis Month, we were treated to a special
message from Dr. Miriam Adeney, Associate Professor at Seattle Pacific
University. Dr. Adeney's message combined the Bible story of Daniel
with anecdotes from her personal missionary experiences and successes
in sharing the gospel.
Her stories were inspiring, and in some cases tragic, but all emphasized
the importance of the singular message that "His kingdom knows no end
and will never be destroyed". She encouraged us to "join the party" and
share our faith with the world.
Following Dr. Adeney's message, Pastor Rick asked all members of
WCUMC to make a Faith Promise Commitment and a Life
Commitment. The purpose of the Faith Promise Commitment is to allow
our Global Outreach (GO) Team to plan and administer financial support
to the mission efforts of WCUMC.
The Faith Promise Commitment is a faith agreement between God and
you. No one is asked to provide their name, but simply to give us an
amount that we can use for planning purposes. The Faith Promise
should be over and above any financial support you give for basic
operations and staff salaries. Please consider these Commitments
carefully, and stop by the church when you can to complete the forms
shown below.
