As you learn more about DesignSmart you’ll quickly determine the features that you will use the most.
While there is only DesignSmart program, you need to understand that there are three different installation types. >The Single User version is perfect for people who work on their own or as independent contractors. The Small Business version is great for design teams with a handful of users. And the Enterprise Edition will take care of even the largest design teamsDesignSmartworks on both Mac and PC computers , or even a combination of the two>And finally, both the Small Business Version and Enterprise Edition give you the option to work from home or from the road. DesignSmart reduces the time required to develop specifications through a combination of tools and features. >The projects module makes it easy for you to set up your projects, key contacts, phases and monitor the profitability of the project.>In the Guest Rooms module you’ll set up the guest rooms for the project. These will come into play when you develop distribution tables.>When room quantities or item quantities change DesignSmart will automatically adjust all related quantities saving you time and eliminating the risk of math errors.>While many designers develop unique specifications for each project, it can be helpful to have predefined core specification details for items you use again and again. In DesignSmart these are called Templates. You might not use the same sofa in any two projects, but all sofas have certain requirements that you can set up in the templates library
DesignSmart makes attaching multiple images to a specification extremely easy. Simply drag the image from a web browser or from your computer onto DesignSmart . And every image you add to a specification becomes part of your Image Library.>Since you probably already have your suppliers, manufacturers and other contacts in an email program, DesignSmart will import those contacts electronically.>As you would expect DesignSmart comes with a variety of reports including schedules and various budget reports. Tailwagger can customize these reports or you can modify them yourself. Also it’s worth pointing out that every report can be saved to PDF or exported to Excel.> And when it’s time to produce your specifications, your tail will really be wagging when you learn just how easy they are to group in the way you need them grouped and sorted and then produced.
