9. RICE
• The rice is produced in the villages:
Deltebre, Sant Jaume
d’Enveja, Aldea, Amposta, Camarles, Ampolla
and Sant Carles de la Ràpita.
• The production started in April/May and
finally in August/September.
10. OIL
• The varieties of olive accepted are: Morruda or
Morris Sevillenca (both originating in the area) and
Forge.Varieties of oil in Delta de l’Ebre: traditional
olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, oil monovarietal
organic oil.The predominant variety is Morruda or
Morris which occupies approximately 50% of the
surface of the olive tree of the two regions..
11. • The variety Sevillenca represents between 30-35% of
the surface Forge and ranges between 10 and
20%.The municipalities that make up the area of
geographical demarcation of the PDO Oil Lower Ebro -
Montsiá are in the region of Lower Ebro
Village, Aldover ,Alfara de
Carles, Ametlla, Bottle, Benifallet
Camar, Deltebre, Paüls, Perello, Roquetes, Tivenys
Tortosa Xerta, and the region of Montsia: Alcanar
Amposta Freginals, La Galera, Godall, Mas de
Barberans, Masdenverge, Sant Carles de la
Rapita, Sant Jaume, Santa Barbara, La Senia and
Ulldecona.Oils with PDO Baix Ebre – Montsiá have
extra virgin olive oils, these areas have the oldest and
largest trees in Catalonia. There are currently a total
of 12 production cooperatives registered with the
Regulatory Council that sell five brands with PDO
13. WATERMELON
• Origin: Baix Ebre – l’Aldea
• Production:
• The harvest takes place during the months of
July and August
• Type: Watermelon varieties that are
harvested are black and white, the latter are
seedless and with seeds.The caliber of what
we do from 2 to 6.
15. ARTICHOKE
• Origin: Catalonia
• Production: The harvest is from September
to June.
• Type: Catalan production has two types of
artichoke, "Tudela", which is the most
common in our country, and the purple
which is very popular in France.
16. GREEN BEANS
• Origin: Baix Ebre - l’Aldea
• Production: The harvest is from April to May.
• Type: There is a wide range of varieties.
Harvesting is done when the pods are tender
to be consumed.
17. ESCAROLE
• Origin: Baix Ebre - l’Aldea
• Production: The harvest from November to
May.
• Type: In the cooperative harvested two types
of chicory, the smooth and curly. Most of the
range is for the firstquarter-end market.
18. CAULIFLOWER
• Origin: Baix Ebre - l’Aldea
• Production: The harvest is from November to
April.
• Type: There is a wide range of varieties
depending on the sizes of cones, there are
from 6 to 8 varieties.
19. CELERY
• Origin: Baix Ebre - l’Aldea
• Production: The harvest is from November to
April.
• Type: varieties are different depending on
the time of harvesting.
