2. o color blindness is found in the X-chromosome
o People who have color blindness from birth
usually get it from there mother even if she
doesn`t have symptoms of it
o Color blindness can remain the same during a
persons lifetime or it could progressively get
worse
o Certain types of color blindness can lead to
legal blindness

The way that they diagnose
color blindness is they use
Ishihara color test plates

5. • There is no cure for color blindness
• There are ways to help it
EX:
~Wear sunglasses when in the sun
~There are tinted contacts to help also
The downfall with the contacts is they will help you
pass color blindness tests but there really is not a
use for them in everyday use.

6. • There are three types inherited of color
blindness
– Monochromacy
– Dichromacy
– Trichromacy

7. • Monochromacy is a severe type of color
blindness
• It is also known as total color blindness
because you lack the ability to tell what colors
are
• It is caused by a cone defect or absence
• This occurs when two or all three of the cone
pigments are not there

8. • Dichromacy is moderate case of color
blindness
• This occurs when one of the three cone
pigments are missing
• Color vision is reduced to two dimensions
• It is hereditary and sex-linked so it affects
more men then women

9. • Anomalous trichromacy is a more common
type of color blindness
• This occurs when one of the three cone
pigments is changed slightly
• It results in an impairment not a loss and
there is still a normal three dimensional color
vision
