•   Heat of vaporization

•   What is the boiling point?


•   How does atmospheric pressure affect boiling?


•   What does the normal boiling point mean?


•   What are the condition of STP? (Standard Temperature and Pressure)


•   What are the properties of liquids?


•   What are the properties of gases?


•   What are the properties of solids?


•   What is the relationship between average kinetic energy and temperature?


•   What happens to average kinetic energies during phase changes?


•   What is vapor pressure, how does vapor pressure change with a change in
    temperature?


•   What assumptions have to be considered with the kinetic molecular theory of gases?
•   Know how to read Reference table H


•   What is temperature a measure of? (Don’t say heat!)


•   What happens during all the phase changes?


•   During what phase changes is heat absorbed and when is heat released?


•   What is sublimation?


•   What is absolute zero?

Know everything about heating and cooling curves




Example questions could include…
•   At what segments are the different states of matter?
•   What segment shows the heat of vaporization, fusion, condensation,
•   What is the boiling point, melting point
•   During what segment do solid and liquid exist at the same time? Liquid and gas?
•   When is heat being absorbed while kinetic energy remains constant?
•   How would this look different if it was a cooling curve?
