outline What is the Texas STaR Chart?  Texas Technology Long Range Plan South Houston High School STaR Data Improving Our Campus: What can WE do?
What is the Star chart?School Technology and readiness Determines professional development needs based on current educational technology profile. Determine funding priorities based on teacher and classroom needs.  Provide data that can support the need for grants or other resources.  Help conceptualize the campus or district vision of technology.  Help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology. http://starchart.esc12.net/history.html
Texas Long Range Plan for Technology Teaching and Learning:  Learners have access to technologies, and services to use 	information for collaboration to solve real-world problems 	and communicate effectively or diverse audiences.  Educator Preparation and Development: Educators are prepared in current models of technology 	and know how to use technology  effectively in the 	teaching and learning process. Educators develop new 	learning environments through collaborative, 	interactive, and customized learning to ensure 	integration of appropriate technology throughout  		curriculum.
Texas Long Range Plan for Technology Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support:  Leaders budget and monitor dynamic technology plan, 	offer curricular and instructional opportunities to students 	via digital tools with distance learning technologies, and 	plan for appropriate tech usage while using data 	effectively in decision making.  Infrastructure The infrastructure system provides access to e-learning 	technologies available 24/7 for all users while having 	technical assistance to support teaching and learning. Conclusions Our technology strengths include Infrastructure, Leadership Support, and Educator Professional Development.  Our technology weakness is in the area of Teaching and Learning.
What can we do? Review and assess the Technology Application TEKS. Collaborate with educators to incorporate more hands-on technology into our lesson plans.  Attend or register for online technology trainings or professional developments in Eduphoria. Consult with our campus Technology Specialist in assisting with classroom implementation.
