Ethiopia has a population of 83 million and is one of the poorest countries in the world. Ethiopian women have lower status than men and lack access to education and healthcare. They face issues such as child marriage, sexual violence, obstetric fistula, and female genital mutilation. While the government and organizations are working to improve women's health, many women in rural areas still lack access to basic maternal healthcare and skilled birth attendants, resulting in high rates of mortality and infant mortality.

1. ETHIOPIA
Ethiopia is one of the poorest country in world. The population is 83 million. From her
birth, an Ethiopian female in most families is of lower status and commands little
respect relative to her brothers and male counterparts. She is deprived of education
after marriage as she has to take care of family, her own children and sometimes other
children who are orphaned by AIDS. The Ethiopian government has made some strides to
improve the health of women and their families with help of many national and
international organizations. There is a great need to help local communities with help of
international organizations to spread health messages such as precautions, importance
and availability of health services, pre-natal and post-natal care. The traditional “coffee
ceremony” – an important daily ritual in which people get together to socialize and
share a cup of Ethiopia’s specially brewed coffee can be used to provide small talks on
health care related education.
