who fight crime with their ESPs, will see a third anime
season, Shukan Shonen Sunday (published by Shogakukan)
revealed in its latest issue, which goes on sale today.
The Sci-Fi comedy series takes place in a futuristic Japan
where ESPers – people with special abilities – are appearing
with increasing regularity.
ESPers are appraised and ranked by levels, and enlisted
by the Japanese government as a means to stop criminal
activity committed through the use of special abilities.
The series’ protagonists, Kaoru (psychokinesis), Aoi
(teleportation), Shiho (telepathy) are three teenage girls
who stand at the forefront of the entire ESPer community,
having been appraised as Level 7s – the highest possible

To commemorate the occasion, a poll is being conducted
over at the series’ official website to determine which of

HUNTER×HUNTER #################], and it will
be hit theatres in Japan January 12, 2013.
Despite the manga and anime series’ long-standing history,
with over 60 million copies of the original comics sold,
Phantom Rouge is Hunter X Hunter’s first feature-length
animated film.
Although the movie’s plot will be an original story, Hunter
X Hunter series creator Yoshihiro Togashi has stated his
inclination to write the script.
Details of the movie’s plot at the moment are scarce. All
that’s been revealed is that the story has something to do
with Kurapika Kuruta (whose eyes turn scarlet red when he
gets excited), as well as the Phantom Brigade Genei Ryodan.
Hence the subtitle “Phantom Rouge” or “Hiiro no Genei”.
More concrete details about the movie will be revealed in
next week’s issue of Shuukan Shonen Jump (issue 34), on
sale July 23.

By KarbyP on July 19th, 2012
Compile Heart has finally released the first trailer for
forthcoming PS3 JRPG Kami Jigen Game Neptune V, the
third game in the Hyperdimensional Neptunia series.
I say fianlly because they’ve actually released quite a
number of promotional videos for the game, mostly starring
Izawa the former chief of a fictional Xbox 360 Special
Forces Division (this is a series of commercials; it’s not an
actual division at Xbox Japan) summoning various creators
(Nobuo Uematsu for music) and various elements (Keiji
Inafune ship???) for the game.
Now we finally get to see some actual gameplay.
The Hyperdimensional Neptunia JRPG series are parodies
inspired by real-world events that occurred in the games
industry. The first two games depicted a war between
the platform holders (represented by Goddesses) against
piracy – specifically the R4 or Magic-Con flash cartridge for
Nintendo DS, represented by a villain who’s literally named
Arfoire in the English version.
Kami Jigen Game Neptune V is set in G.C1989 (in the
eventual English released this will probably be translated as
“Gameindustri 1989), and is inspired by real-world events
during the Sega Mega Drive and Famicom era. Series
protagonist Neptune (CV: Rie Tanaka) somehow fell into a
wormhole in time that takes her back into the past. There,
she meets Pururut, voiced by Kana Hanazawa.
Kami Jigen Game Neptune V is due on August 30 for the
PlayStation 3 in Japan.

Tomorrow, July 19, shall mark the first new-songs update for
Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Ver.B. Four “new” songs
will be added in this July update… which is good news, right?
Not exactly.
All four songs are not exactly “new” per se. Specifically, they
hail from Project Diva Extend on the PSP.
That said, this is the first time we’re seeing these songs
rendered in HD resolution. The Dreamy Theatre PS3 app for
Project Diva Extend has not yet been released, after all.
How do you feel about this month’s songs update? Are they
worth making a trip down to your favourite arcade tomorrow
for?

Confirmed: Fuuka Yamagishi
will indeed make an
appearance in Persona 4
Arena as a “navi-voice”
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/confirmed-fuuka-yamagishi-will-
indeed-make-an-appearance-in-persona-4-arena-as-a-navi-voice/
By KarbyP on July 19th, 2012
Last week we ran a piece that discussed the possibility of
Persona 3′s Fuuka Yamagishi being featured in Persona 4
Arena (Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena in Japan
and Asia).
Speculation on Fuuka’s inclusion began when some sharp-
eyed Persona fans noticed that a particular screenshot of the
game’s gallery mode released to Japanese media featured
tiny snippets of what appeared to be character portraits for
Fuuka and Persona 4′s Nanako Dojima.
This week we finally got some form of official confirmation:
according to Weekly Famitsu magazine, Fuuka Yamagishi
July 19th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone

will indeed be selectable in Persona 4 Arena as an announcer
voice (called a “navi-voice” in the game).
It’s not entirely clear from the cut-off text in the image below
(bigger), but it appears that Fuuka’s navi-voice will be sold
as DLC.
Fans should also be pleased to see that Fuuka’s grown
a pigtail and changed her look in the time gap between
the end of Persona 3 and the beginning Persona 4 Arena
(approximately three years):
We still do not know for sure if the voice of Persona 4′s
Nanako Dojima will also be available as a navi-voice in
the game as well. But since Nanako’s character portrait is
located right next to Fuuka’s, the obvious conjecture is that
developer Arc System Works should be making a similar
announcement for Nanako soon.
Who else would you like to see featured as a navi-voice in
Persona 4 Arena?
Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (PlayStation 3,
Xbox 360) will hit stores in Japan and Asia on July 26, and
in the US on August 7.

Singapore: Come meet MCZ|
Tokido at Sony and Capcom’s
Street Fighter Anniversary
Tournament next weekend
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/singapore-come-meet-mcztokido-at-

Mad Catz-sponsored fighting games pro Taniguchi Hajime
– better known as “Tokido” or “The Murder Face” to the
fighting games community at large – will be coming down
to Singapore next weekend (July 28 & 29) as part of the
festivities here for Sony and Capcom’s Street Fighter 25th
Anniversary Tournament!
Although the multi-faceted pro gamer, who’s based in
Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture and team-mates with Daigo
Umehara, is most well-known for his achievements at
Street Fighter tournaments, Tokido also plays Guilty Gear,
BlazBlue and Tekken at a highly competitive level.
His talents in such games have led to fans christening him
as one of the five fighting game gods in Japan (Daigo, Nuki,
Haitani, Sako, and Tokido… in case you’re wondering, Mago
the 2D God is not part of the quintuplet, because Mago’s title
is self-asserted), and has also earned him nicknames like
“The Murder Face” and “Ice Age” for his cool, calculated but
ultimately devastating play. Here’s an example:
So come on down to Wisma Atria, Level 1 Atirum next
weekend – July 28 and 29 - to catch Tokido in action at the
tournament grounds.
Better still, if you’ve confident of your Street Fighter skills,
take the Murder Face on. Go on, challenge him to a match
(if you dare).
We’re not sure if you’ll actually have to spot him at the event
and ask politely to have a match, or if there will be a line
formed just for getting your turn against Tokido. Just keep a
look out for exuberant “oooh”s and “aaah”s from the crowd
at the location, and you shouldn’t be too far away from the
action.
Oh, and just in case you’re actually a participant in the any
of the 25th Anniversary tournaments, don’t worry, Tokido
won’t actually be competing in them. He’s just here as a
guest.

Hatsune Miku Graphy
Collection celebrates iPhone
support with an in-game
event
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/hatsune-miku-graphy-collection-
celebrates-iphone-support-with-an-event/
By shia on July 20th, 2012
After a long wait of five months, Mobage social game
“Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection” now supports iPhones.
To celebrate that, Crypton Future Media(the people who
brought us Vocaloids) are celebrating it with an event in-
game.
It was announced by Crypton Future Media on the 21st June
2012, that they would be working with DeNa, using their
Mobage open platform system to extend support to include
iPhone users for their popular card collection/nurturing
simulation game “Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection” since its
release in February 2012.
To celebrate the milestone, iPhone users will be getting 10 of
“Stamina recovery Max” and “Tension recovery Max” items
instead of the normal 3 of each once they complete the
tutorial.
On top of that, all users who start the game within this period
will get a 7 day double XP and in game goods, making it an
enticing preposition to begin the game now.
What is “Hatsune Miku Graphy
Collection”?
“Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection” is a dream collaboration
realized by many creators that is the second set of Japan’s
first CGM(Consume Generated Media) social game.
The efforts come from a plethora of illustrators across
multiple genres; whom some of them are drawing Miku and
the rest of the Vocaloid characters for the first time.
This is all for the sake of enabling and enhancing player
experience through expanding their card collection and to
reach the goal of completing their card collection libraries.
Crypton expects to add more cards as an ongoing effort to
showcase new artists.
How is the gameplay like?
The game system requires the player to build a deck of 6
cards which he begins with.To increase the number of cards,
the player must do quests or use the gachapon(mini lottery)
to try their luck at getting new/rarer cards.
A social game must have some form of social interaction, for
this game, players will be able to interact with each other via
a battle system. Players can pit their deck of cards in a 1 vs 1
situation and the side with the higher numbers of wins will
win the overall match.
While having strong cards will increase the chance of
winning, players can apply tactics such as rearranging the
deck order in such a way that their stronger cards are pitted

against the opponent’s weaker cards and thus gaining an
overall victory through careful planning.
Some cards have additional abilities that activate on certain
conditions(Sun Graze: +300 singing/charisma only on
Sundays) that might turn a lost cause into a stunning victory.
Winners of this battle will gain XP and snatch a portion of
their money and items of which can be used to further their
goals of completing their collection of cards.
Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection is now available for iPhone
users and Android users alike on Mobage over here. A QR-

Also: package illustrations for each of the three different
versions. What are you wanting for? Hit the jump to the full
story!
Earlier this week we reported that Idolm@ster Shiny Festa
will feature a “Shining Burst” play mechanic that will let you
activate a special cutscene mid-song, if you do well.
We had thought this to be similar to climax scenes in
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F.
But as it turns out, Idolm@ster Shining Festa‘s
implementation is quite different: each song in the game
will actually feature two different accompanying music video
clips.
You can choose to start the song with either playing in
the background. There is also an option to disable Shining
Bursts completely, so that you’ll stick to the same music clip
for the entire song.
During play, as you rack up combos through well-timed
button presses, your “・ (Kirameki) meter” will begin to fill.
This meter is no different from the life or pass/fail meter in
other rhythm action titles.
When it’s completely filled, at specific points in a song, a
“Shooting Star” note will appear on the screen.
Clear the note with a well-timed button press, and you’ll
activate Shining Burst, which will change the currently
playing clip to the other one, and vice-versa.
Although this may sound gimmicky in theory, it may in fact
lead to some meaningful moments for Idolm@ster fans.
For instance, for Chihaya Kisaragi’s (CV: Asami Imai)
Yakusoku, you may choose to start playing with the following
clip in the background:
Then, when you hit the high point of the song, a Shooting
Star note could change the clip to the following one, which
depicts Chihaya’s childhood memories.
Another example. In the song Gero Gero Kitchen, a Shooting
Star appears right after Chihaya yells “I’ve got it, gero!” (・・
・・・・・).
With a well-time button press you could swap clips and have
Chihaya appear in an elegant stage costume.

Famitsu also notes that during a Shining Burst it’s much
easier to increase your score as well.
Apart from detailing the game’s Shining Burst mechanic,
Famitsu has also published screenshots for a couple of songs,
as well as package iluustrations for each of the three different
versions (which will all come with different track-lists).
Tonari ni…
A ballad about a deceased loved one. What sort of scenes will
follow after a Shining Burst, we wonder.
Marionette no Kokoro

The story is about a girl, Suzuhara Izumiko, who was born

school, she is unexpectedly sent to a school in Tokyo, Houjou

Is Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/is-final-fantasy-versus-xiii-cancelled/
By GermanSausage on July 23rd, 2012
We last heard about Final Fantasy Versus XIII quite some
months ago in March. It went missing during E3 and we
have not heard of it since. That is until Kotaku found
some sources suggesting “that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is
officially cancelled”.
Kotaku also had another source suggesting that resources
used to produce Final Fantasy Versus XIII had been folded
into the sequel, Final Fantasy XV.
With Final Fantasy XV gracing E3 instead of Versus XIII,
will Final Fantasy XV be taking center stage once more
at Tokyo Game Show (come September) while Versus XIII
walk the same lonely path as Starcraft Ghost?

Whenever a game maker announces that their latest title will
come with a cool pre-order bonus item, gamers in Singapore
and other regions outside Japan alike worry about if they’ll
receive the bonus item when they purchase the title in retail
stores in Singapore.
That’s especially the case with the Hatsune Miku PS Vita
protective skin that’ll be offered to gamers who pre-order
Sega’s Project Diva F in Japan – especially since you won’t be
able to buy this protective skin anywhere else, and since the
skin is designed to match one of the game’s loading screens.
Will folks who purchase the game in Asia be subjected to the
same deal?
As it turns out, yes!
We’ve just received word from New Era, the distributor for
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F in Asia that the protective skin
will indeed be presented to gamers who pre-order at stores
in the following countries: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia,
The Philippines, and Indonesia.
For more details, check with your local games retailer. Even
if they don’t know whether they’ll receive the PS Vita skin or
not, check with them if they’re getting their copies from New
Era or elsewhere. Only the New Era copies will come with
the pre-order bonus.
Other pre-order bonuses that New Era has brought in for
gamers include a Sonic-themed notepad and pin badge that
came with purchases of Sonic Generations (Xbox 360, PS3).
[UPDATE] Hong Kong and Taiwan are the countries not
under New Era’s distribution for Hatsune Miku Project

franchises: Heihachi from Tekken, Bioshock’s Big Daddy,
and more.
Judging from the description of the item on the PlayStation
store, it looks like the beta will include online play:
The goal of the Beta is to allow the developers to test
the servers and Match Making features. Of course,
to do that we need lots of people on the servers
so please come along and battle your favourite
characters!”
Although the beta will probably make its way to the PS Plus
in other regions eventually, currently there is no information
on when that will happen. For now the beta is a timed-
exclusive for Singapore and Hong Kong users.
If this is the first time you’re hearing about it, PlayStation
Plus is a premium service for PS3 users that gives them
free games (selected titles) every month, as well as access

two subscription bases – monthly and annually. A 30-day

Final Fantasy Versus XIII Still

By GermanSausage on July 25th, 2012
On his Twitter, Square Enix CEO, Yoichi Wada, denies
thatFinal Fantasy Versus XIII has been quietly axed.
The game has teased fans since May 2006 at E3. This
year, the game has gone mysteriously missing from the
game showcase at Los Angeleus. In its place, a CGI teaser
trailer of Final Fantasy XV entertained the crowds. A similar
maneuver was used in 2006 when Blizzard quietly killed off
Starcraft Ghost while everyone were distracted by World of
Warcraft.
With pressure on mounting on Square Enix to produce
results, we can expect Final Fantasy Versus XIII to make a
sneak appearance at Gamescon or Tokyo Game Show. If we
hear naughts, we might just nominate Final Fantasy Versus
XIII for the next Wired News Vaporware Awards.

Diablo III’s Invulnerability
exploits found for Wizards
and Barbarians
Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/diablo-iiis-invulnerability-exploits/
By Xharky on July 25th, 2012
Not satisfied with having server issues and other ‘fun’ events
for players, Diablo III has now come up with invulnerability
exploits for both Wizards and Barbarians.
Wizard:
Step 1: Select Teleport – Fracture. Bind it to a key
Step 2: Select Archon, tested with Improved Archon
Step 3: Hover your mouse over or near your charcter
Step 4: Press Teleport
Step 5: QUICKLY(!) Press Archon
Barbarian (Thanks to YouTube user MetaSerge, and on
Blizzard Forums):
1. Have Furious Charge with Dreadnought Rune
2. Charge into a certain opening cinematic (before it begins,
details on forum and youtube links)
For the barbarian exploit, it certainly isn’t as strong as the
Wizard one, but comes close enough that you shouldn’t be
able to die at all.
Since players who knew about these exploits are only just
‘releasing’ it to the public, goodness knows how much cash
they have earned off the RMAH. Blizzard has announced
that they will be attempting to hotfix the wizard exploit
as soon as possible, but there has been no announcements
about the barbarian one.

the story as detailed in the original work” which, in this case,
would refer to the 30 to 40-hour long story mode in Persona
4 Arena.
Although both the game and manga series will essentially be
telling the same story, Atlus says that the manga series will
render the story’s intense moments with a sense of action
that’s only possible in manga format.
Aiya Kyuu, the manga artist and author for Monthly Comic
Gene’s Antimagia, will illustrate the P4U manga series.
Persona Magazine #10, published by Dengeki, will go on sale
in Japan August 10 for 840 yen.
Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena the game
(PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) comes out in Japan and Asia on
July 26, this Thursday, and is due to be released in the US
August 7.

Singapore: Don’t have
Persona 4 Arena? Try these
stores, or play at Tough
Cookie Gaming Cafe

And if you do have a copy of Persona 4 Arena, come on in and
join the SGCafe Mayonaka Arena Investigation Team (list of
players’ PSN IDs)! Max out your Social Links!
We’ve received word from a number of readers that
even though Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena
(Persona 4 Arena in the West) is supposed to be released
today, a number of retailers here in Singapore have
apparently not received their copies yet.
Here at SGCafe, we definitely feel your pain (i.e. I don’t have
mine either). So we’ve called up a bunch of retailers to see if
we might be able to help you (and me) score a copy before
the weekend.
Gamescore at Funan has completely sold out of their
allotment, and told us that they expect the next batch of
copies to come in next Tuesday or Wednesday.
When we contacted FunzCentre (Orchard branch), a
representative told us that their allotment is currently tied
up at chain video games boutique’s head office, and will be
distributed to branches tomorrow (Friday, July 27).
Certain branches of Comics Connection might still have
copies. Give your local branch a call, and who knows, it might
be your lucky day.
If you know of any other retailers that still have copies
of Persona 4 Arena on sale, please let us know via the
comments below.
Even if you don’t manage to land a copy of Persona 4 Arena
right now, don’t fret. Just because the stocks have yet to
arrive at your favourite games retailer, doesn’t mean you
can’t play the game.
Our good friends over at Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe have
relayed word that they’ve brought in four copies of the game
for patrons to take on each other in a lag-free environment.
And since TCGC is the console LAN cafe in Singapore that’s
geared towards fighting games enthusiasts, every single PS3
in the shop is hooked up with two or more arcade joysticks
– so you won’t have to bring yours.
Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe is located within Parklane
Shopping Mall, level 2 (35 Selegie Road #02-25B, Singapore
188307). Its opening hours are from 11AM to 3AM on most
days.
Rates are as follows (subject to change beginning August):
CONSOLE
$2 per person per hour (you’re not tied to a single console,
so feel free to mingle)
$10 whole day
LAN
$2 per person per hour
$12 whole day

Introduce yourself
Hello! I’m Kirisaki from Singapore. Forever a poor student
saving up for cosplay stuff and eating grass one day at a time.
Ive been cosplaying for a few years. Perhaps about 4 to 5?, I
can’t really remember the specifics but anyway nice to meet
ya!
Why do you cosplay?
For fun, interest and everything nice.
What and when was your first cosplay?
It was princess princess, somewhere back in 2007/2008?
I don’t even want to remember anymore, it was
soooooooooooo bad.
How do you choose the characters that you cosplay?
They usually come from the series that I like, it might
not necessarily be my favorite characters, but they are just
likeable. I take into consideration costume difficulty and
whether or not I’m suited for the character, looks and
portrayal wise.
What is your most memorable cosplay experience?
I will give it to one of my first cosplay photoshoots I had
quite some years ago. Woke up at 4am just to prepare and
leave the house to capture the sunrise. Turns out me and my
partner sacrificed our sleep for nothing because it started
raining around 6am. The one thing I learnt from cosplay
shoots would be “Never trust the weather forecast!”
What was your silliest cosplays moment?
Well it ranges from nearly tripping over your own gown
to having your wig blown into unrecognizable styles to
climbing over obstructions just to shoot at inaccessible
places. I will consider the last one as somewhat an
achievement though LOL XD.
What is your most favorite character to cosplays as?
I don’t think I have one. But I like running around in big
gowns and glorious looking costumes just to impress myself
with my own inadequate costume making skills ROFL.
Where do your costumes come from? Do share!
Self made! Can’t recall when was the last time I bought a
costume from somewhere. As far as I can remember I’ve
been tailoring my own costumes since 2-3 years ago. Self
made costumes are much more cheaper haha, and that’s my
main motivation to sew! 8D
Do you have any Cosplayers that you look up to?
YEEEESSSSSS. I’m biased towards Korean cosplayers. I like
Kotaro in particular! <3 Other than that I really admire their
costume making skills and complexion and figure and shoot
location and yea you get the idea. I follow a lot of Japanese
cosplayers on cure as well! Just too many to name them all ):
July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone
9
Were there any changes in your life after cosplay?
Not in particular, except for the fact that while my
schoolmates are out having fun and chilling, I’m stuck at
home sewing costume and hoping that my props will make
themselves.
Is there anything that you would like to say to all your fellow
Cosplayers out there?
Hello and hello again. Nice seeing you all 8D Hopefully I can
get to meet new people at every event! Do say hi if you see
me hanging around at events <3 ~

Tekken Director Meet and

Famed Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada graced our shores
recently, stopping by Singapore’s Bugis Junction shopping
mall for a fan-anticipated meet-and-greet session held in the
mall’s TKA Virtualand Arcade, a place well known by the
local fighting game community.
Directors of Harada’s stature rarely visit Singapore, but for
this eventful day we were eagerly there to meet the man that
made Namco Bandai’s Tekken series an icon in the gaming
world.
(Above) Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada and Tekken
Project Senior Game Designer Michael Murray
The event started off to an already enthusiastic crowd by
7pm in the evening. Organised by Namco Bandai Partners
Singapore, the meet-and-greet was held at exactly right
where any fighting game enthusiast would dream of, in the
heart of the arcade itself. Amongst a row of Tekken Tag
Tournament 2 arcade machines a special one-day-only mini-
stage set-up stands tall for all to see. With a table ready for
an autograph session later on in the day, it also came along
with an Arcade Machine setup that had a demo of the console
version of Tekken Tag 2 Tournament for fans to try out.
July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone

Mr Harada arrived together with Tekken Project’s Senior
Game Deisgner Michael Murray, who also translated on
behalf of Harada for this segment of the day, where fans get a
chance to ask any questions about Tekken Tag Tournament
2. Ranging from questions like the game’s balancing of
characters, to gameplay systems it was indeed time to quiz
Harada. Harada himself offered detailed answers for each
and every one of the fan questions.
In fact, Harada had more than just an answer to every
fan’s question. This next segment has the Namco Bandai
staff offering an autographed Tekken Tag Tournament 2
poster to 8 lucky fans who answers a question from Namco
Bandai staff correctly, the questions themselves test the in
depth knowledge of a Tekken enthusiast. Nonetheless the
responsive crowd got the answers and the lucky ones got the
giveaway posters home.
Autographs are one of the main attraction in most meet and
greet sessions, a good memorabilia for many enthusiasts.
Fans mostly have their own something for a signature by
Harada. From Tekken games to stickers, cards, posters,
Harada was generous enough to sign on anything, and as for
me I got my special flag inked by Harada.
Harada is not known to shy away from his fan’s requests, and
what better way to share with his fans then posing for photos
with his own characters cosplayed by our talented local duo.
Tekken characters Alisa and Marshall Law turned up for the
event much to the delight of many fans ending the day with
a myriad of photos.

Harada could not stay for long in Singapore but despite his
short visit it sure made his life long fans and many more
new gamers appreciate the visions of Harada’s efforts in
his work for the future of the Tekken franchise. Be sure
to also preorder your copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2
slated for a PS3 and Xbox360 release this September 13 in
Japan, 11 in North America, 13 in Europe and 10 in Australia
respectively.

The Sci-Fi comedy series takes place in a futuristic Japan where ESPers – people with special abilities – are appearing with increasing regularity. ESPers are appraised and ranked by levels, and enlisted by the Japanese government as a means to stop criminal activity committed through the use of special abilities. The series’ protagonists, Kaoru (psychokinesis), Aoi (teleportation), Shiho (telepathy) are three teenage girls who stand at the forefront of the entire ESPer community, having been appraised as Level 7s – the highest possible level. Together, the three form a special unit known as “The Children”. First seriealised in Shukan Shonen Sunday in 2005, the Zettai Karen Children comics has had a 30-volumes run thus far, with over six million copies sold. Although the movie’s plot will be an original story, Hunter X Hunter series creator Yoshihiro Togashi has stated his inclination to write the script. Details of the movie’s plot at the moment are scarce. All that’s been revealed is that the story has something to do with Kurapika Kuruta (whose eyes turn scarlet red when he gets excited), as well as the Phantom Brigade Genei Ryodan. Hence the subtitle “Phantom Rouge” or “Hiiro no Genei”. More concrete details about the movie will be revealed in next week’s issue of Shuukan Shonen Jump (issue 34), on sale July 23. July 19th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 1 SGCafe : Cosplay | Vocaloid | Otaku | Pop Culture A daily publication about Cosplay, Vocaloid, Otaku and Japanese Pop Culture 1st trailer for Kami Jigen Game Neptune V offers a brief glimpse into the world of G.C1989 Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/1st-trailer-for-kami-jigen-game- neptune-v-offers-a-brief-glimpse-into-the-world-of-g-c1989/ By KarbyP on July 19th, 2012 Compile Heart has finally released the first trailer for forthcoming PS3 JRPG Kami Jigen Game Neptune V, the third game in the Hyperdimensional Neptunia series. I say fianlly because they’ve actually released quite a number of promotional videos for the game, mostly starring Izawa the former chief of a fictional Xbox 360 Special Forces Division (this is a series of commercials; it’s not an actual division at Xbox Japan) summoning various creators (Nobuo Uematsu for music) and various elements (Keiji Inafune ship???) for the game. Now we finally get to see some actual gameplay. The Hyperdimensional Neptunia JRPG series are parodies inspired by real-world events that occurred in the games industry. The first two games depicted a war between the platform holders (represented by Goddesses) against piracy – specifically the R4 or Magic-Con flash cartridge for Nintendo DS, represented by a villain who’s literally named Arfoire in the English version. Kami Jigen Game Neptune V is set in G.C1989 (in the eventual English released this will probably be translated as “Gameindustri 1989), and is inspired by real-world events during the Sega Mega Drive and Famicom era. Series protagonist Neptune (CV: Rie Tanaka) somehow fell into a wormhole in time that takes her back into the past. There, she meets Pururut, voiced by Kana Hanazawa. Kami Jigen Game Neptune V is due on August 30 for the PlayStation 3 in Japan. Four “new” songs will be added in this July update… which is good news, right? Not exactly. All four songs are not exactly “new” per se. Specifically, they hail from Project Diva Extend on the PSP. That said, this is the first time we’re seeing these songs rendered in HD resolution. The Dreamy Theatre PS3 app for Project Diva Extend has not yet been released, after all. Speculation on Fuuka’s inclusion began when some sharp- eyed Persona fans noticed that a particular screenshot of the game’s gallery mode released to Japanese media featured tiny snippets of what appeared to be character portraits for Fuuka and Persona 4′s Nanako Dojima. This week we finally got some form of official confirmation: according to Weekly Famitsu magazine, Fuuka Yamagishi
  • 20. July 19th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 9 will indeed be selectable in Persona 4 Arena as an announcer voice (called a “navi-voice” in the game). It’s not entirely clear from the cut-off text in the image below (bigger), but it appears that Fuuka’s navi-voice will be sold as DLC. Fans should also be pleased to see that Fuuka’s grown a pigtail and changed her look in the time gap between the end of Persona 3 and the beginning Persona 4 Arena (approximately three years): We still do not know for sure if the voice of Persona 4′s Nanako Dojima will also be available as a navi-voice in the game as well. But since Nanako’s character portrait is located right next to Fuuka’s, the obvious conjecture is that developer Arc System Works should be making a similar announcement for Nanako soon. Who else would you like to see featured as a navi-voice in Persona 4 Arena? Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) will hit stores in Japan and Asia on July 26, and in the US on August 7. Read more about Atlus’s Persona franchise here on SGCafe! Although the multi-faceted pro gamer, who’s based in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture and team-mates with Daigo Umehara, is most well-known for his achievements at Street Fighter tournaments, Tokido also plays Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and Tekken at a highly competitive level. His talents in such games have led to fans christening him as one of the five fighting game gods in Japan (Daigo, Nuki, Haitani, Sako, and Tokido… in case you’re wondering, Mago the 2D God is not part of the quintuplet, because Mago’s title is self-asserted), and has also earned him nicknames like “The Murder Face” and “Ice Age” for his cool, calculated but ultimately devastating play. Here’s an example: So come on down to Wisma Atria, Level 1 Atirum next weekend – July 28 and 29 - to catch Tokido in action at the tournament grounds. Better still, if you’ve confident of your Street Fighter skills, take the Murder Face on. Go on, challenge him to a match (if you dare). We’re not sure if you’ll actually have to spot him at the event and ask politely to have a match, or if there will be a line formed just for getting your turn against Tokido. Just keep a look out for exuberant “oooh”s and “aaah”s from the crowd at the location, and you shouldn’t be too far away from the action. Oh, and just in case you’re actually a participant in the any of the 25th Anniversary tournaments, don’t worry, Tokido won’t actually be competing in them. He’s just here as a guest.

To celebrate that, Crypton Future Media(the people who brought us Vocaloids) are celebrating it with an event in- game. It was announced by Crypton Future Media on the 21st June 2012, that they would be working with DeNa, using their Mobage open platform system to extend support to include iPhone users for their popular card collection/nurturing simulation game “Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection” since its release in February 2012. To celebrate the milestone, iPhone users will be getting 10 of “Stamina recovery Max” and “Tension recovery Max” items instead of the normal 3 of each once they complete the tutorial. On top of that, all users who start the game within this period will get a 7 day double XP and in game goods, making it an enticing preposition to begin the game now. What is “Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection”? “Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection” is a dream collaboration realized by many creators that is the second set of Japan’s first CGM(Consume Generated Media) social game. The efforts come from a plethora of illustrators across multiple genres; whom some of them are drawing Miku and the rest of the Vocaloid characters for the first time. This is all for the sake of enabling and enhancing player experience through expanding their card collection and to reach the goal of completing their card collection libraries. Crypton expects to add more cards as an ongoing effort to showcase new artists. How is the gameplay like? The game system requires the player to build a deck of 6 cards which he begins with.To increase the number of cards, the player must do quests or use the gachapon(mini lottery) to try their luck at getting new/rarer cards. A social game must have some form of social interaction, for this game, players will be able to interact with each other via a battle system. Players can pit their deck of cards in a 1 vs 1 situation and the side with the higher numbers of wins will win the overall match. While having strong cards will increase the chance of winning, players can apply tactics such as rearranging the deck order in such a way that their stronger cards are pitted

What are you wanting for? Hit the jump to the full story! Earlier this week we reported that Idolm@ster Shiny Festa will feature a “Shining Burst” play mechanic that will let you activate a special cutscene mid-song, if you do well. We had thought this to be similar to climax scenes in Hatsune Miku Project Diva F. But as it turns out, Idolm@ster Shining Festa‘s implementation is quite different: each song in the game will actually feature two different accompanying music video clips. You can choose to start the song with either playing in the background. There is also an option to disable Shining Bursts completely, so that you’ll stick to the same music clip for the entire song. During play, as you rack up combos through well-timed button presses, your “・ (Kirameki) meter” will begin to fill. This meter is no different from the life or pass/fail meter in other rhythm action titles. When it’s completely filled, at specific points in a song, a “Shooting Star” note will appear on the screen. Clear the note with a well-timed button press, and you’ll activate Shining Burst, which will change the currently playing clip to the other one, and vice-versa. Although this may sound gimmicky in theory, it may in fact lead to some meaningful moments for Idolm@ster fans. For instance, for Chihaya Kisaragi’s (CV: Asami Imai) Yakusoku, you may choose to start playing with the following clip in the background: Then, when you hit the high point of the song, a Shooting Star note could change the clip to the following one, which depicts Chihaya’s childhood memories. Another example. In the song Gero Gero Kitchen, a Shooting Star appears right after Chihaya yells “I’ve got it, gero!” (・・ ・・・・・). With a well-time button press you could swap clips and have Chihaya appear in an elegant stage costume.

It went missing during E3 and we have not heard of it since. That is until Kotaku found some sources suggesting “that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is officially cancelled”. Kotaku also had another source suggesting that resources used to produce Final Fantasy Versus XIII had been folded into the sequel, Final Fantasy XV. With Final Fantasy XV gracing E3 instead of Versus XIII, will Final Fantasy XV be taking center stage once more at Tokyo Game Show (come September) while Versus XIII walk the same lonely path as Starcraft Ghost? That’s especially the case with the Hatsune Miku PS Vita protective skin that’ll be offered to gamers who pre-order Sega’s Project Diva F in Japan – especially since you won’t be able to buy this protective skin anywhere else, and since the skin is designed to match one of the game’s loading screens. Will folks who purchase the game in Asia be subjected to the same deal? As it turns out, yes! We’ve just received word from New Era, the distributor for Hatsune Miku Project Diva F in Asia that the protective skin will indeed be presented to gamers who pre-order at stores in the following countries: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines, and Indonesia. For more details, check with your local games retailer. Even if they don’t know whether they’ll receive the PS Vita skin or not, check with them if they’re getting their copies from New Era or elsewhere. Only the New Era copies will come with the pre-order bonus. Other pre-order bonuses that New Era has brought in for gamers include a Sonic-themed notepad and pin badge that came with purchases of Sonic Generations (Xbox 360, PS3). The game has teased fans since May 2006 at E3. This year, the game has gone mysteriously missing from the game showcase at Los Angeleus. In its place, a CGI teaser trailer of Final Fantasy XV entertained the crowds. A similar maneuver was used in 2006 when Blizzard quietly killed off Starcraft Ghost while everyone were distracted by World of Warcraft. With pressure on mounting on Square Enix to produce results, we can expect Final Fantasy Versus XIII to make a sneak appearance at Gamescon or Tokyo Game Show. Wizard: Step 1: Select Teleport – Fracture. Bind it to a key Step 2: Select Archon, tested with Improved Archon Step 3: Hover your mouse over or near your charcter Step 4: Press Teleport Step 5: QUICKLY(!) Press Archon Barbarian (Thanks to YouTube user MetaSerge, and on Blizzard Forums): 1. Have Furious Charge with Dreadnought Rune 2. Charge into a certain opening cinematic (before it begins, details on forum and youtube links) For the barbarian exploit, it certainly isn’t as strong as the Wizard one, but comes close enough that you shouldn’t be able to die at all. Since players who knew about these exploits are only just ‘releasing’ it to the public, goodness knows how much cash they have earned off the RMAH. Blizzard has announced that they will be attempting to hotfix the wizard exploit as soon as possible, but there has been no announcements about the barbarian one. This adaptation is a straight-up “comicalization”, which is industry lingo for “the comic or manga series will follow after the story as detailed in the original work” which, in this case, would refer to the 30 to 40-hour long story mode in Persona 4 Arena. Here at SGCafe, we definitely feel your pain (i.e. I don’t have mine either). So we’ve called up a bunch of retailers to see if we might be able to help you (and me) score a copy before the weekend. Gamescore at Funan has completely sold out of their allotment, and told us that they expect the next batch of copies to come in next Tuesday or Wednesday. When we contacted FunzCentre (Orchard branch), a representative told us that their allotment is currently tied up at chain video games boutique’s head office, and will be distributed to branches tomorrow (Friday, July 27). Certain branches of Comics Connection might still have copies. Give your local branch a call, and who knows, it might be your lucky day. If you know of any other retailers that still have copies of Persona 4 Arena on sale, please let us know via the comments below. Even if you don’t manage to land a copy of Persona 4 Arena right now, don’t fret. Just because the stocks have yet to arrive at your favourite games retailer, doesn’t mean you can’t play the game. Our good friends over at Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe have relayed word that they’ve brought in four copies of the game for patrons to take on each other in a lag-free environment. And since TCGC is the console LAN cafe in Singapore that’s geared towards fighting games enthusiasts, every single PS3 in the shop is hooked up with two or more arcade joysticks – so you won’t have to bring yours. Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe is located within Parklane Shopping Mall, level 2 (35 Selegie Road #02-25B, Singapore 188307). Its opening hours are from 11AM to 3AM on most days. Rates are as follows (subject to change beginning August): CONSOLE $2 per person per hour (you’re not tied to a single console, so feel free to mingle) $10 whole day LAN $2 per person per hour $12 whole day For more information on Tough Cookie, visit their Facebook page. • 53. July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 8 By sakurazaki on July 27th, 2012 Introduce yourself Hello! I’m Kirisaki from Singapore. Forever a poor student saving up for cosplay stuff and eating grass one day at a time. Ive been cosplaying for a few years. Perhaps about 4 to 5?, I can’t really remember the specifics but anyway nice to meet ya! Why do you cosplay? For fun, interest and everything nice. What and when was your first cosplay? It was princess princess, somewhere back in 2007/2008? I don’t even want to remember anymore, it was soooooooooooo bad. How do you choose the characters that you cosplay? They usually come from the series that I like, it might not necessarily be my favorite characters, but they are just likeable. I take into consideration costume difficulty and whether or not I’m suited for the character, looks and portrayal wise. What is your most memorable cosplay experience? I will give it to one of my first cosplay photoshoots I had quite some years ago. Woke up at 4am just to prepare and leave the house to capture the sunrise. Turns out me and my partner sacrificed our sleep for nothing because it started raining around 6am. The one thing I learnt from cosplay shoots would be “Never trust the weather forecast!” What was your silliest cosplays moment? Well it ranges from nearly tripping over your own gown to having your wig blown into unrecognizable styles to climbing over obstructions just to shoot at inaccessible places. I will consider the last one as somewhat an achievement though LOL XD. What is your most favorite character to cosplays as? I don’t think I have one. But I like running around in big gowns and glorious looking costumes just to impress myself with my own inadequate costume making skills ROFL. Where do your costumes come from? Do share! Self made! Can’t recall when was the last time I bought a costume from somewhere. As far as I can remember I’ve been tailoring my own costumes since 2-3 years ago. Self made costumes are much more cheaper haha, and that’s my main motivation to sew! 8D Do you have any Cosplayers that you look up to? YEEEESSSSSS. I’m biased towards Korean cosplayers. I like Kotaro in particular! <3 Other than that I really admire their costume making skills and complexion and figure and shoot location and yea you get the idea. I follow a lot of Japanese cosplayers on cure as well! Just too many to name them all ):
  • 54. July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 9 Were there any changes in your life after cosplay? Not in particular, except for the fact that while my schoolmates are out having fun and chilling, I’m stuck at home sewing costume and hoping that my props will make themselves. Is there anything that you would like to say to all your fellow Cosplayers out there? Hello and hello again. Nice seeing you all 8D Hopefully I can get to meet new people at every event! Do say hi if you see me hanging around at events <3 ~ ~KiriSaki For more information, check out the following links Deviantart : http://k-iricos.deviantart.com/ World Cosplay : http://worldcosplay.net/member/21907/ Tekken Director Meet and Greet session at Bugis Junction TKA Virtualand Source: http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/tekken-director-meet-and-greet- session-at-bugis-junction-tka-virtualand/ By Kyoka on July 27th, 2012 Famed Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada graced our shores recently, stopping by Singapore’s Bugis Junction shopping mall for a fan-anticipated meet-and-greet session held in the mall’s TKA Virtualand Arcade, a place well known by the local fighting game community. Directors of Harada’s stature rarely visit Singapore, but for this eventful day we were eagerly there to meet the man that made Namco Bandai’s Tekken series an icon in the gaming world. (Above) Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada and Tekken Project Senior Game Designer Michael Murray The event started off to an already enthusiastic crowd by 7pm in the evening. Organised by Namco Bandai Partners Singapore, the meet-and-greet was held at exactly right where any fighting game enthusiast would dream of, in the heart of the arcade itself. Amongst a row of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 arcade machines a special one-day-only mini- stage set-up stands tall for all to see. With a table ready for an autograph session later on in the day, it also came along with an Arcade Machine setup that had a demo of the console version of Tekken Tag 2 Tournament for fans to try out.
  • 55. July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 10 Mr Harada arrived together with Tekken Project’s Senior Game Deisgner Michael Murray, who also translated on behalf of Harada for this segment of the day, where fans get a chance to ask any questions about Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Ranging from questions like the game’s balancing of characters, to gameplay systems it was indeed time to quiz Harada. Harada himself offered detailed answers for each and every one of the fan questions. In fact, Harada had more than just an answer to every fan’s question. This next segment has the Namco Bandai staff offering an autographed Tekken Tag Tournament 2 poster to 8 lucky fans who answers a question from Namco Bandai staff correctly, the questions themselves test the in depth knowledge of a Tekken enthusiast. Nonetheless the responsive crowd got the answers and the lucky ones got the giveaway posters home. Autographs are one of the main attraction in most meet and greet sessions, a good memorabilia for many enthusiasts. Fans mostly have their own something for a signature by Harada. From Tekken games to stickers, cards, posters, Harada was generous enough to sign on anything, and as for me I got my special flag inked by Harada. Harada is not known to shy away from his fan’s requests, and what better way to share with his fans then posing for photos with his own characters cosplayed by our talented local duo. Tekken characters Alisa and Marshall Law turned up for the event much to the delight of many fans ending the day with a myriad of photos.
  • 56. July 27th, 2012 Published by: VR-Zone 11 Harada could not stay for long in Singapore but despite his short visit it sure made his life long fans and many more new gamers appreciate the visions of Harada’s efforts in his work for the future of the Tekken franchise. Be sure to also preorder your copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 slated for a PS3 and Xbox360 release this September 13 in Japan, 11 in North America, 13 in Europe and 10 in Australia respectively.
