3. Supportive This person focuses on other people. They want friendships and relationships. They reject conflict and are risk adverse. When making a decision, they want to have a safe-guarantee it will work with clear, specific solutions. Their time orientation is unhurried, slow and agreeable. People working with a supportive person must be involved, and create a safe work environment.
4. Analytic This person focuses on facts, principles, and historical perspectives. They want to be right and see predicable patterns in things. They reject involvement and are risk adverse. When making decisions, they want evidence something will work in the future. Their time orientation is disciplined and accurate. People working with an analytic person should address procedures on how things should be done and offer to aid in the plan.
5. Driver This person focuses on productivity, action, and results. They want to get the job done. They reject inaction and are risk takers. When making decisions, they like to research options and look at probabilities. Their time orientation is efficient and they want things now. Drivers do not like to be ignored or competed against. People working with a driver person should work to find a mutually productive area and produce stand up results.
6. There are several things which must be understood about behavior styles: One personality trait is not better than the other. Each trait is appropriate with the proper situation when implemented well. For example, a detail oriented person is needed in a group when working with a very creative person with lots of ideas. If the details are not planned, the ideas cannot be implemented. Work, using each other’s strengths.
