3. What are my responsibilities?
• Coordinate, guide, advise and verify the work of a total of 518
teachers of physics at the secondary level (gymnasium and high-
school);
• Physics discipline management;
• coordination and verification of the quality of education;
• making the network-information to promote news curricular;
• link between the ministry and schools on the physics curriculum;
• identifying opportunities for teacher training, support training activities
in education and physics;
• organizing school competitions;
• conducting inspections in education in Bucharest;
• offer advice in choosing educational curriculum opportunity,
organization of national assessments;
• conflict mediation;
• development topics for school competitions and examinations for
hiring teachers in the system education;
• upgrading the human resource database and the results of the
discipline;
• evaluating and reporting on the quality of teaching and learning and
teacher education;
• teaching physics 2-4 hours/week.

Organisation of the Romanian education
• 1. Primary education:
- nursery schools - creşe (0 to 3 years)
- pre-school education (< 7 years)
- primary school (7 -10 years, I-IV forms)
• 2. Secondary education:
- lower secondary school (11 -14 years, V-VIII forms)
- higher secondary school: secondary education (15 -18 years,
X-XII forms) or vocational
• 3. Higher education:
- University bachelor’s degree;
- University master;
- Doctoral programs.

13. Teachers
• Primary school teachers (institutori) are trained in teaching high
school (vocational upper secondary school) or university colleges
(short-type education).
• Lower and upper secondary school teachers (profesori) are
trained in higher education, four to five years, depending on the
subject they teach.
Initial teacher training
• Initial vocational teacher training is offered to vocational subject
teachers in the form of a pedagogical course at universities.
Lifelong training for teacher (preuniversitary education)
• After 2 years experience of teaching, exam for title of
qualification awarded the Degree DEFINITIVE in teaching;
• After 4 years (after the Definitive Degree) - exam for Degree II;
• After 4 years (after the two Degree) follows exam for Degree I.
Every five years a teacher needs 90 credits transferable.
