CONTENT ANALYAIS
TERMS
FACTS
Plasma, RBC, WBC, platelets, organic compounds, albumin, globulin, fibrinogen, amino acids, plasmaproteins, neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, monocytes, lymphocytes. Blood is a fluid tissue with a complex structure Body of an adult human being contains about 5 liters of blood
2. Transport of materials, providing immunity, maintenance of the body temperature etc are some of the functions of blood. Blood consist of 55% of liquid plasma and 45% blood cells. It also consist the blood cells such as RBC, WBC and platelets. RBC help to transport of respiratory gases. WBC provides immunity of the body. Platelets are essential for the clothing of blood.
CONCEPT
Blood is a fluid tissue with complex structure and contain three kinds of cells with different functions.

INTRODUCTION
How many of you enter your kitchen for helping your mother?
How many of you know cutting vegetables in proper shape and size?
Can you imagine, a wound happen in your hand, while cutting vegetable?
As a result of this which fluid tissue oozes out from your hand?
Blood (B.B)
Teacher succeeded in knowing the previous knowledge of students.
5. ACTIVITY-1
Teacher shows the chart contain the components of blood, and ask students to answer the given indicators in their science diary.
Blood
Plasma Blood cells
Water Inorganic Organic RBC WBC Platelets
compounds compounds
6. Indicators
1. Which are the major components of blood?
2. Organic compounds are present in which component of blood?
3. Which are the different types of blood cells?
GROUP DISCUSSION LEAD BY TEACHER
Blood is a fluid tissue, with a complex structure. Blood consist of 55% liquid plasma and 45% blood cells. Blood is present only in higher organisms. Blood is red in colour. The presence of a protein called haemoglobin give red colour to blood. The main constituent of it is iron. An adult human being has about 5 liters of blood in his body. It forms 8% of whole body weight. But it can vary according to the weight, size of person. Blood cells which is of 3 types. They are RBC, WBC and platelets.
Activity – 2
Teacher shows another chart, and ask the students to write down the answers of given indicators in their science diary.
7. BLOOD

c. Enzymes
d. Vitamins Growth and repair of body
e. Glucose
f. Urea
g. Uricacid
h. Hormones Controls body function
3. Inorganic compounds
Salt and ions of Na, K and Ca Maintain osmotic balance Help in clotting of blood Working of muscles
(B) BLOOD CELLS
1. RBC Transport of respiratory gases
2. WBC Provide immunity
3. Platelets Essential for the clotting of blood
8. Indicators
1. Name the plasma protein which controls blood pressure?
2. Which components of blood are help in clotting of blood?
3. Which are the organic components present in plasma?
GROUP DISCUSSION LEAD BY TEACHER
Plasma is the fluid part of the blood. It has 3 major components. They are water, organic compounds and inorganic compounds. Organic compounds include 3 plasma proteins. They are albumin, globulin and fibrinogen. Other organic compounds are amino acid, enzymes, vitamins, glucose and hormones. In organic compounds include salt and ions of Na, K and Ca. Water help in transport of vitamins and hormones. Albumin help to control blood pressure. Other organic compounds help in growth and repair of body. Hormones controls body function. In organic compounds maintain osmotic balance of blood. The blood cells include RBC, WBC and Platelets. RBC help to transport respiratory gases. Platelets are essential for the clotting of blood.
9. WBC is divided into neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, moncyte, lymphocyte. Its major functions to provide immunity to body.
REVIEW QUESTIONS
1. How many litres of blood present in an adult human being?
2. How much quantity of water present in plasma?
Name the plasma proteins?
