Ecosystem An ecosystem consists of all the organisms living in a particular area, as well as all the nonliving, physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact, such as air, soil, water, and sunlight.
Biomes It’s meaning….. -a complex biotic community characterized by distinctive plant and animal species and maintained under the climatic conditions of the region, esp. such a community that has developed to climax. -a large community of plants and animals that occupies a distinct region.
     The Desert
Desert -a region so arid because of little rainfall that it supports only sparse and widely spaced vegetation or no vegetation at all. -any area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil. -refer to areas that are largely uninhabited. Desert  emphasizes lack of water; it refers to a dry, barren, treeless region, usually sandy.
Sahara Desert "The Greatest Desert“ -it is the world's largest hot desert. At over 9,400,000 square kilometers
10 Largest Deserts 1 Antarctic Desert (AntarcticaArctic Sahara (Africa) Arabian Desert (Middle East Gobi Desert (Asia Kalahari Desert (Africa Patagonian Desert (South America) Great Victoria Desert (Australia) Syrian Desert (Middle East Great Basin Desert (North America)
Characteristics Occurring in semi tropical and temperate regions Precipitation is so slow Vegetation is unprotected Plants have water-storage tissues Animals live in burrows
