luncheon in March 2011.
Each winner was invited to bring four people on the trip
which consisted of Dealer Principals and their partners
from the UK Dealer Network.

the agency to select a suitable venue that needed to be

The Hotel:
Five venues were proposed to the client. The Westin
Dragonara Resort has been awarded Europe's Leading
Meetings and Conference Resort by World Travel Awards
held on Friday 2nd September in Turkey and appeared
the most appropriate venue for the client in the chosen
location.
With a private beach, casino and plenty of sea view
rooms; it was clear as to why the decision was made to
choose this resort. The hotel sits just minutes away from
the ancient and modern wonders of downtown.
Venues Event Management worked with the Destination
Management Company (DMC) in Malta, Alpine Stirling,
to source the various restaurants for the trip.

Travel
Airport transfers were arranged for the delegates. Normally where
MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd are involved we would only use MAN
products. Unfortunately only 1 MAN coach was available on the
island which was too small so in its place a Scania coach was used
for the transfers throughout the event, which whilst being a
competitive brand is a part of the Volkswagen Group like MAN.
Onsite Event Management
Venues Event Management provided one Event
Manager who worked with the DMC throughout the trip.
Our Event Manager arrived a day prior to the delegates’
arrival to check through final arrangements.

Challenges
One of the restaurants that was originally booked for
the trip then went under a refurbishment project that
was not scheduled to be complete before the arrival of
the client.
Solution/Execution
Alternative restaurants had been recommended by the
DMC as they had worked with them on previous
events so onsite inspections had already taken place
and it was decided to go with one of these.

The remainder of the afternoon was down to the guest’s
