Computer Basics (12 hr) - Learn different types of comput-
ers and devices, computer hardware, computer architecture,
operating systems, troubleshooting, Windows tools, Windows
Explorer, conducting Internet research, protecting PC from
Viruses and maintaining hardware. In addition, students will
learn to build a computer from scratch - install motherboard,
format hard drives and load Operating System. This is a founda-
tion course recommended for all our courses. Prereq: none.
Robotics (12 hr) - Learn to build and program real-life robotic
actions using programmable motors, sensors, gears, wheels,
axles, and other technical components; build, test, troubleshoot,
and revise design to improve robotic performance; use mathe-
matical concepts such as estimation, distance measurement,
elevation, and speed to control robotic actions. Students will
work in teams of 2-4 members. Prereq: Computer Basic or equiva-
lent.
Create 2D Games (12 hr) - An excellent introductory course
to 2D game programming for students interested in developing
interactive games that utilizes media, sound, image and anima-
tion or interested in learning to program. Prereq: Computer Basic
or equivalent.
Video Editing & Special Effects (12 hr) -Hands-on course
for students who to develop and edit a digital movie using
Window’s MovieMaker, edit music using Audacity, add
background sound and music, add special effects and text, cut
unwanted movie clips, merge different movie clips, add pictures
and upload movie to YouTube for friends and family to view.
Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent.
Website Design with WordPress (12 hr)– Learn to use Word-
Press to build a blog or website - add pictures, videos, slide shows,
manage content and learn to use HTML to edit pages. This is an
excellent introductory course for students interested in develop-
ing a portfolio or a blog site. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent
Computer Architecture (18 hr) - Understand the computer
architecture, data flows, network, user management, security and
more…This is an excellent course for students that plan to pursue
Computer Science, become Technician, system Administrator,
Network Administrator or preparing for Microsoft Technology
Associate (MTA) 349, 365, 366, 367 or CompTIA A+ Certifica-
tion Exam. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent
Programming in HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript (24 hr)– -
Learn to develop interactive website or web app using HTML5,
CSS3 and JavaScript that will work on all devices. JavaScript
language is an easy-to-use language that is commonly used from
writing short scripts in web pages to full-blown web applications.
Students will be introduced to developing interactive forms using
HTML5 tags and creating their own style sheets. This is an
excellent course for students planning to pursue Computer
Science, become Website designer or prepare for Microsoft
Technology Associate (MTA) 375 Certification Exam. Prereq:
Computer Basic or equivalent
Programming in C++ (24 hr)- Learn the basics of C++
programming to build software using Microsoft Visual Studio.
Learn to use common functions, expressions, flow control,
loops and more, to develop an application! This is an excellent
course for students planning to pursue Computer Science,
become game programmer or prepare for Microsoft Technolo-
gy Associate (MTA) 361, 362, 363, 372, 373 Certification Exam.
Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent.
Programming with Java (24 hr)- Learn the basics of Java
programming language to build software using variables, classes,
expressions, flow control, loops and more to develop an
application! This is an excellent course for students planning to
take AP Computer Science, want to develop software or become
a game programmer. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent.
Object Orient Programming (24 hr)- Upon mastery of the
basics of C++ or Java programming, students are ready to learn
some of the Advance Object Oriented concepts such as
creating classes, objects, method, constructors, polymorphism,
arrays, strings, dynamic data and more, to develop interactive
applications. This is an excellent course for student planning to
take AP Computer Science, develop software, want to become a
game programmer or prepare for Microsoft Technology Associ-
ate (MTA) 361, 362, 363, 372, 373 Certification Exam. Prereq:
Programming with Java Basic, C++ or equivalent.
