If you're like most businesses you probably know that you'd benefit from cloud, but inundated with too much information to take the next step.
Making sense of cloud, the various manufacturers and offerings, and how and when to transition to cloud is not so easy. In fact, it can be very confusing and even misleading.
In the last three years, we've helped over 100 small to medium businesses make the journey to cloud and now UTG and Microsoft have packaged all this learning for you into a free two hour lunch and learn event!

What’s unique about Office 365, compared to any other cloud provider, is that:
It comes with the full Office – the same apps that you or your employees rely on – but now on all your devices, and let you do your work even when you are offline so [click] you can be truly productive from anywhere.
What’s also unique with Office 365 is that it has the broadest definition of what productivity services are needed to run a business – it’s definitely more than just email! And, all the services are enterprise-grade services – trusted by large corporations too – designed to give you the reliability you expect while helping you [click] look more professional when interacting with customers and partners.
Examples of enterprise customers using Office 365: Coca-Cola Enterprises (72,000 employees), Starbucks, Campbell’s Soup, Hyatt Hotels (106,000 employees), the Department of Veterans Affairs (600,000 employees), Lowe’s (>200,000 employees), Hallmark (9,500 employees), Japan Airlines (20,000 employees), and Burger King (3,500 users).
And all the services are guaranteed 99.9% uptime under the same SLA – so we don’t put out anything in beta for you to test and then remove it later on without any warning. We do not violate your privacy or confidentiality requirements by using scanning technologies to read your email for targeting advertising. We help [click] simplify your IT management while still keeping you in control of your business and data.
And what it all comes down to is you [click] get the most for your IT investment when you invest in Office 365.
Let’s drill down now on the specifics of Office 365 to help you understand why it’s the right technology for your business. The first area we talked about is “Be More Productive Anywhere”….

(Becky) So what is UTG’s DNA? How are we composed?
Who are we? Not what products we sell or what services we can provide but who are we as people, as a company, as a culture…
UTG is driven by this core belief:
Note to Presenter: This slide talks about how to decide which Office is best for SMB. We do want to lead with Office 365 as we believe it’s the best way to get the new Office but understand there are customers who are not yet ready for that transition and we want to still help them get modern to the 2013 versions.

The best way for you to get modern with the new Office is with Office 365 so you always get the most up-to-date version of Office, the same way you use Office today (installed on your machine), plus, cloud-based productivity services. This is the best option for you if you and your users have multiple devices per person and you are looking for a low upfront cost solution.
Within Office 365, you have different options depending on your needs.
- If you are a small shop with less than 25 users, have no IT, looking for a turnkey solution for Office plus business-class email, file sharing, and conferencing for all your users across the board. Then Office 365 Small Business Premium is probably your best bet.
- If you see yourself growing beyond 25 users but still under 300 users, then you want to consider Office 365 Midsize Business because you can’t migrate from SBP to M easily at this point (which means you need to create a new tenant and deploy again). Office 365 Midsize Business is perfect if you have an IT generalist, and require Active Directory integration to manage user credentials and permissions for single sign-on.
- If you see yourself growing beyond 300 users, or your business requires that you have maximum flexibility or if you have advanced IT needs, then you want to consider Office 365 Enterprise E3. Again, M doesn’t currently migrate to E3 easily so you want to start with a plan that enables you to grow. E3 includes advanced eDiscovery and archiving with unlimited storage for compliance purposes. You also have advanced email capabilities like Data Loss Prevention (e.g. you can set rules so you can’t send emails with credit card info outside the organization), and Information Rights Management (setting rules on who can open and forward your emails). E3 also supports business intelligence so you can create and manage interactive dashboards and reports with Access, Excel, or Visio. InfoPath forms allow you to build e-forms for all your business processes needs such as HR. You can also receive voicemails as digital audio files right in your inbox so you have one place for all your communications (no need to remember passcode to retrieve your voicemail anymore). E3 supports different user types so you can mix E3 users with kiosk workers, and also access to your own servers if you prefer a hybrid platform. E3 also provide 24/7 technical phone support for all issues, whereas SBP and M only has that for critical issues (i.e. when services are down).
We understand there are still customers who may not be ready for the cloud. Office 2013 is the latest version of the Office apps that you can install once per PC. For this, just like you have bought Office before, it’s for installation on a single PC.
Office Home and Business (H&B) 2013 is great if you have less than 10 users and just want Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, without the need to connect to any servers. For this, you buy per license and has no pricing discounts.
Office Standard 2013 includes all of that (H&B) plus Publisher, plus ability to connect to servers, and if you buy more than 5 licenses, you can buy from me (a Microsoft Reseller) under the Open license and get additional benefits like pricing discounts.
If you need Lync (IM, conferencing), Access (database), and InfoPath (e-forms), and advanced server integration, then you need Office Professional Plus 2013. Again, like Standard, you can buy this via Open and get pricing discounts and all the Open benefits:
Volume pricing discounts on additional Microsoft products through Open licensing
Simplified deployment using a single image instead of manually installing a license key code for every PC
Electronic license management protects your software assets by storing them online, with no box to lose
Per-device licensing provides a perpetual license of Office for each PC
Transfer rights let you transfer licenses to replacement hardware
Option to buy Software Assurance – get all updates to software in agreement period, as well as ‘Home Use’ license for all employees
Cloud migration strategy; phased, intentional and deliberate
