Technology is an important part of curriculum. There are many different ways to utilize technology and integrate into daily instruction to make the most impact. Regardless if it is one computer, mini labs, or one to one, teachers have access to many different resources to make the most of their instructional time with the use of technology.
2. Technology Management
Pros:
Enhances learning for students
Provides opportunities for pedagogy.
Instant educational access to learning experiences.
Cons:
Distraction for students.
Providing equal opportunity to students who do not have
access.
Cheating
("Top Hat", 2015).
3. Project Based Learning - Group Activities
Technology enhances and fosters group
collaboration.
Using technology for research allows
students to work as a group outside of the
classroom.
Students can use technology to identify
research options (TEKS 8C.4)
By researching projects, students use literacy
skills to enhance the learning process.
Students will be able to produce digital
4. “I only have one computer”
Place computer in an accessible and
easily supervised area of the
classroom.
Alternative methods of research
Rotations can take place every 15 mins.
Post a schedule
Create a color coded schedule
("Education World:how To Thrive -- Not Just Survive In A One-
Computer Classroom", 2011).
5. Mini-Lab
Teachers are able to monitor usage while
modeling lessons.
When researching, students are able to
research different topics at once.
Collaboration on group projects
simultaneously.

Technology devices in the classroom can be scary, but used effectively they can enhance engagement.Technology management plays a significant role in the learning environment. When students are conducting research it is important for teachers to monitor students work. Teachers should set the expectations and rules for conducting research and working with students on PBL. Technology has the ability to be integrated across all curriculums to enhance learning for all students and learning styles.
Takes place across curriculums to enhance learning
Technology integration allows more opportunities for teachers to engage in pedagogy.
Allows for students to become more engaged in the learning process.
Students have instant educational access to learning experiences.
Technology in the classroom can enhance PBL. Students can use technology to identify research options (TEK 8C.4), research their project (they will need research and information literacy skills TEK 8C.3), create digital products (TEK 8C.1), and communicate their results (TEK 8C.2).

When teachers are provided only one computer in a classroom, it is imparative be organized and accessible and easily supervised. A few things teachers can do to help maintain organization are “post a schedule, draw popsicle sticks, and establish color coding groups, for students to follow - place names of students with color coded paper next to the computer station ("Education World:how To Thrive - Not Just Survive In A One-Computer Classroom", 2011). Students who are performing research can use other forms of resources such as encyclopedias, interview or books.

The "My Nasa Data:classroom Management" (n.d.) website stated that when working with students in a classroom with multiple computers, it is important to take advantage of what resources you have. Students are placed into groups, collaborate and come up with a solution. When they have finished, each group will present their findings to the rest of the class. Presentations are an excellent opportunity to the teacher to check for understanding of the entire group.
Another great use of multiple computers is having the teacher use a video projector. By doing this, the students can see the steps as the teacher completes them.
