[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],On our initial site inspection the flora we found included Acacia sideroxylon, Quercus robusta (Oak) and Aesculus californica (Buckeye) in terms of trees. It is our belief the Oak and Buckeye were planted and the Acacia is a volunteer. The Oak and buckeye surviving indicate that the site does not get much water as one tree shuts down for our dry season (buckeye) and the other is drought tolerant after its first few years (oak).

[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],The non-tree plants on the site are Dandelion, Clovers (Oxalis which we were told by a neighbor shows up each winter), some grass ground cover, fennel, malva parviflora (Mallow) and English Ivy. The presence of clover indicates a low level of nitrogen. We believe this to be true as the soil seems to consist of sand over bedrock with very little organic mater mixed in. The dandelion and mallow presence indicates that the property has been cultivated or tilled. We don’t believe this is the case here, but the area gets much human and animal traffic and the soil gets disturbed.
