As the MDGs are aimed at the mitigation of POVERTY, WATER must play a critical role in the achievement of the MDGs.
In order to gain a clearer picture of this widely acknowledged assumption, an assessment was conducted to measure the degree to which the solution to water-related problems impacts positively on the achievement of the overall MDGs. The results of the assessment were presented by Board Chairman and Japan Water Forum President, Mr. Ryutaro Hashimoto, at the 3rd Meeting of the Board in Rome as a foundation for future discussion.
