History

  The earliest evidence for fist fighting with any kind of
     gloves can be found on Minoan Crete (c. 1500–900 BC)
    Detailed records of various fist-fighting sports that were
     maintained in different cities and provinces of Italy
     between the 12th and 17th centuries.
    Started in 1891, the National Sporting Club in London
    1900 to 1920 Most of the fights took place in England &
     USA
    1940 to 1960 was the time when most of the fighters went
     for only Exhibitions
    1960 to 1980 the era which produced the most significant
     icon in the history of boxing, M. ALI
    1980 to 2000 , Mike Tyson has been the man in the ring
     and USA stayed with most of the titles
    2000 till date, Professional Boxing has become the second
     largest viewed game around the Globe

  The first National Boxing championship was held at
   Karachi in 1948.
  Boxing is among the very few sports, in which Pakistan
   has made slow but steady progress despite general
   deteriorating standards.
  Pakistani personal have climbed up the top berths in the
   organizational set-up of world amateur boxing by dint
   of sheer hard-work and individualistic efforts. Mr.
   Anwar Chaudhry, a Professor of engineering in Karachi
   University was at present the President of the
   International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA).
  He Steered the fate of Boxing for 20 Years

  ONLY COMMONWEALTH BOXING MEDAL (A
  BRONZE) IN 1970 GAMES AT EDINBURGH.

Professional vs Amateur boxing

 Throughout the 17th through 19th centuries,
    boxing bouts were motivated by money, as
    the fighters competed for prize money
   Amateur boxing became an Olympic sport in
    1908.
   Fighters wear protective headgear, reducing
    the number of injuries, knockdowns, and
    knockouts.
   Professional boxing remains by far the most
    popular form of the sport globally
   For most fighters, an amateur career,
    especially at the Olympics, serves to develop
    skills and gain experience in preparation for
    a professional career.

Amateur Boxing in Pakistan

 Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) is the governing body
    of Amateur Boxing in Pakistan.
   The Pakistan Amateur Boxing Federation (PBF) organizes
    amateur matches.
   Pakistan has seen success at Amateur level boxing, despite
    lack of necessary equipment and facilities.
   They have won medals at the Olympic and Commonwealth
    Games. An example being Quetta born Haider Ali who won
    Gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games at Featherweight,
    and went on to become a professional boxer.
   Asgher Ali Shah member of Pakistan under 19 team he has
    won different titles against Malaysians and Filipinos. He is
    two time Olympian, He has 13 gold and 10 silver medals at
    the international level.

 PPBL will be the Platform for all the youngsters who
  have played amateur and want to pursue carrier in
  boxing as Professional
 PPBL has already received the License from WBC
 Formation of PPBL means, Pakistan can hold a WBC
  Title Match in Pakistan
 International Champions can come and Play in Pakistan
 PPBL can host Major Boxing Events in Pakistan with
  WBC titles
 With talent in Pakistan, there are no doubts that soon,
  Pakistan will produce a world champion at WBC
 PAKISTAN PROFESSIONAL BOXING LEAGUE
How PPBL will work?

PPBL will become the legal entity in the country to
 promote the fighters at National & International Level.
Clubs all over the Nation will be informed about the
 PPBL program
Organizations who have boxing teams will be informed
 about PPBL program
Interested Clubs or Organizations will register
 themselves with PPBL

BENEFITS OF REGISTRATION

 PPBL will maintain the database of all members
 International standards will have to be followed by all
  members to Participate in PPBL program
 The fighters names will also be sent to WBC Asia and
  WBC
 All Clubs and Organizations will Participate in the
  competitions
 List of Pakistan’s Fighters ranking will also be listed
  with WBC
 This will enable Pakistan’s fighters to take part in
  international title events held by WBC around the Globe
 PPBL will be supporting all members with required
  trainings and infrastructures

   Amir Khan Wants Historic
     Title Fight in Pakistan
   While in Pakistan this week, former
      WBA/IBF Jr Welterweight boxing
      champion Amir Khan discussed his
      desire to participate in a world title fight
      there sometime soon. Khan is currently
      in the region after accepting an invitation
      from Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF)
      to attend the Benazir Bhutto
      International Boxing Championship.

 Former champ hoping for a huge fight in his
                   homeland
Amir Khan will pursue the possibility of
 taking a world title fight to Pakistan in the
 near future after admitting that a huge bout
 in his ancestral home is one of his main
 career targets.

According to official statement, around 35 countries
  would participate in the events and compete for the
  titles.

  "Asian and African countries have confirmed their
  entries. But we have also sent a request to Poland,
  France and some other European countries,"

 There are many Boxing equipment manufacturers in
  Sialkot-Pakistan
 On Top, GREEN HILL which has also been the official
  equipment in Olympics and many of international
  events.
 PPBL will provide the opportunity to the local industry
  to promote their products as being affiliated by WBC &
  All other International Associations and legal bodies of
  boxing, the equipment shall be of international
  standards
 PPBL will support the local manufacturers to raise the
  bar to international standards and explore international
  markets

MEDIA

PPBL will add on the opportunities for media in
 parallel to seeking support from media
These events will be healthy content for all sports
 channels
This will also provide the Local channels to gain the
 business from international channels
Media would get positive content to print and
 promote which would eventually support in Nation’s
 image building

  Government bodies along with Logistic & Financial
  support to execute this project
 PPBL will be seeking support of Pakistan’s Olympic
  committee
 PPBL intends to coordinate with all affiliates to make
  this project beneficial for all and above all PAKISTAN
