What are TED Talks?
TED Talks are talks delivered at TED conferences. They are up to 18 minutes long and
they are about an idea worth spreading. TED was founded in 1984 and stands for
Technology, Entertainment and Design. The TED website also features talks from
independently organized TED events, called TEDx events.
What is TED-Ed?
TED-Ed is a website for teachers and learners that features talks and animated
lessons, based on TED Talks. It is a platform that allows anyone to flip a TED-Ed
video, TED Talk or any other YouTube video and create a new, customized lesson.
What does flipping a video mean?
"Flipping" a video allows you to turn a video into a customized lesson that can be
assigned to students or shared more widely. You can add context, questions and
follow-up suggestions to any video on TED-Ed or YouTube.
What do I need to get started?
Just go to http://ed.ted.com and create an account. This will allow you to store your
flipped lessons and get data and statistics on student progress. You can flip any
lesson available on TED-Ed. From the YouTube menu option, you can flip any
YouTube video.
How can I get further involved?
