2. December 14, 2012 Adam Lanza entered
Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown,
Connecticut
A new security system had been installed
making visitors be seen and then buzzed in,
very similar to what we have here at the high
school
Lanza entered with a semi-automatic AR-15
assault rifle and two pistols
He shot his way into the school and the shots
were heard throughout the school

Adam Lanza, the shooter, was twenty
years old
Lived in Sandy Hook, five miles from
the school
No criminal record
He used his mother’s weapons to carry
out the shooting. She was said to be a
gun advocate, legally owned many
guns, and often took her sons to the
shooting range
Was an honor student at Newtown

His mother removed him from the
school district because she was
unhappy with what they had to offer
and was then home-schooled
He earned a GED under his mother’s

this is a thought to why he carried out the
shooting

All sources say that a sure conclusion can not be
made about why Adam Lanza carried out the act
7. Adam Lanza attended Sandy Hook
Elementary for a short period of time
His mother was a volunteer at the school
and reports show that Adam thought she
cared about the kids more than she did for
him
Lanza, the shooter, killed his mother on
his way to the Elementary School
8. Twenty students, ages six to seven, were
killed in the shooting
Six adult employees at the school were
also killed
Adam Lanza, the shooter, took his own life
inside the school with his hand gun
9. All staff of Sandy Hook Elementary were put in grave
danger on December 14, 2012. All teachers put their lives
in front of their students. Anne Marie Murphy, a special
education teacher was found in her classroom slumped
over her students as she tried to throw her body in front of
the bullets to save their lives
As soon as shots were heard, school principal Dawn
Lafferty Hochsprung, school psychologist Mary Sherlach,
and vice principal Natalie Hammond went out to
investigate and take action. Only Natalie Hammond would
make it out alive
Other teachers made sure to keep their students calm for
the endless hours that were spent in the school by reading
stories to them, hiding them in bathrooms, and telling them
