Assure method thursday
1. Assure Method
Thursday
A- I am going to be teaching 2D and 3D shapes to a class of kindergarteners between the
ages of 5 and 6, I plan on teaching this lesson in a rural area with a mix of boys and girls
in the classroom. I realize that I cannot just stand at the board and lecture because these
are small children that learn by hands on interaction. I need to also teach by making the
students participate in as much as possible.
S- Through a webquest, a video that I made, and a poster that I made from photo shop
100% of my class will learn the differences between 2D shapes and three 3D shapes by
the end of the day on Thursday.
S- In order to teach this class of kindergarteners to know the differences between 2D and
3D shapes I will show them two videos that I created. One video is about 2D shapes and
the other is about 3D shapes. Next I will have my students go on two different webquests
one will be on 2D shapes and the other will be on 3D shapes. Lastly, my students will
look at a poster that I created and they will point out which shapes are 2D and which
shapes are 3D.
U- The students will first come in and I will have my videos playing they will learn the
differences between a 2D and 3D shape. Next they will complete two webquests one on
2D shapes and the other on 3D shapes. Lastly, I will present a poster in front of the class
and point to different shapes and the students will have to identify which ones are 2D and
which ones are 3D.
R- My learners will participate by watching videos that I created, then completing two
webquests, and then having me assess them with a poster I created
E- I will evaluate my material that I use often by making changes as needed and I plan to
assess each of my students altogether on this day making sure that everyone is
participating with the poster activity. I will also be able to assess them individually by
looking over their webquests to see who knows what information.
