A poem I wrote a long time ago in remembrance of friends I have no hope of seeing again....to lost friends....with fondest love & gratitude for honouring me with your friendship......

4. It seems eons ago now That I would see you often… But now all is lost in the cloudy & dim past… 4

5. Or is it?... 5

6. Because your faces & voices, Your laughter & tears Seem fresh in my mind….. 6

7. How?...How , you ask…after all these years, Through all these changes & turbulence That is life….can I remember,…recall…? 7

8. Well, does the ocean forget the people on its beaches? Or the trees the children who climbed them? 8

9. Does a girl forget her first love…or her first kiss? ….. her first dance? 9

10. Do thoughts get left behind In the passage of time? 10

11. Does time forget to age people? …or can autumn forget to bring a chill? 11

12. No, …never….And so, as spring ends and autumn begins Your memories have grown sharper ….Lingering in my mind, Your laughter still echoing in my ears… 12

13. So evergreen are your faces and smiles, frozen , Forever young, from the time Of our last rendezvous… 13

14. While I… I, my friends, have met autumn Who has brought a chill to my bones, 14

15. … snow to my once raven hair, Andaches to my joints… 15

16. … as I limp To meet the setting sun Of dark winter. 16
