3. There are 22 counties in the state of Georgia that have a population between
25, 000 and 35,000. Of those 22 counties, 20 reported crime statistics to the
FBI. Violent crimes are defined as Murder/Manslaughter, Forcible
Rape, Robbery and Aggravated Assault.
Oconee County (99) reported the third highest incidents of violent crime. Only
Madison County (159) and Haralson County (111) reported a higher number of
violent crimes.

Property crime is defined as being Burglary, Larceny-Theft, Motor Vehicle
Theft and Arson.
Oconee County (531) reported the fourth highest incidents of property crime.
Only Madison (723), Stephens (597) and Jones (533) Counties reported a
higher number of property crime.
