1. Ideenskizze
Gründerwettweber 2009 Hooks
& Filters
a unified information plattform
"I think, the web has a headache. There
is too much crap out there, ... , which
must be filtered and cleaned up. ... The
developement of such filters ... will
provoke some anger. But the quality will
improve decisively".

2. The Problem Hooks & Filters
• Very low distribution-costs led to an • The plattform „Hooks & Filters“
information-overload in the web. combines three aspects:
- Feedreader (z.B. google reader)
• Traditional media lost their - Bookmarking (z.B. delicious)
function to filter and review - Tracking/Aggregation (z.B. rivva)
information, and the web couldn‘t
fill the gap so far. • The plattform bases on:
- extensive filter-functions
• Information Research has become - collaboration in the group
a strong competitive element and
an important factor of cost an • The plattform produces two
time. outputs:
• As single users will be overstrained, - A personal magazine with
we need new solutions based on individual bookmarks
collaboration and shared learning. - A public magazine, which
automaticly aggregates the
information with the highest
access rates by the group of
experts.
3. Type in your interest:
Biotechnology

yet. Wan‘t to create one?

7. target group
Hooks & Filters is an alternative to common feedreaders and bookmarking tools. With
the integration of conference streams and searchtools for abstracts it concentrates on
the science & business area.
USP
The user can benefit from the know how and the additional input of the group
memebers (shared learning). At the same time he enjoys the functionality of a
combined reader and bookmarking-tool, whoose filter-functions let‘s him handel the
information overload.
Commercialization
The public community-mags will be commercialized as a kind of „news-wiki“ with high
relevance and expert-know-how. In that way, we can keep the internal area free of
adverts. In a long run, there can be integrated e-commerce-elements (literature-shops,
job-adverts and else).
