Carla has joined Touchmark as the new Life
Enrichment/Wellness director. Cathy Bird has
taken Touchmark’s community coordinator
position.
“I love getting to know residents, learning about
their lives, and helping them live life to the
fullest,” says Carla.
Carla’s professional background includes
teaching special education, working in the
nonprofit sector, and supervising senior
volunteers. Carla holds a Bachelor of Science
in Special Education from the University of
Oklahoma.
A native Oklahoman, Carla has lived in many
countries and several states. She and her husband
now live in Edmond. They have two grown
daughters. Carla enjoys cooking, eating, reading,
and travelling.

Intern part of
Touchmark team
While
completing
her degree
requirements,
Morgan
Fitzgerald is
working with
Executive
Director
Melissa
Mahaffey. Morgan is a master’s
candidate at the University
of Oklahoma Health Sciences
Center.
“I am thoroughly enjoying my
time at Touchmark and will truly
miss it when I am finished with
my internship,” says Morgan.
A native Texan, Morgan has
lived in several states but chose
to attend college in Oklahoma
after visiting the state during
a family vacation. Her parents
are native Oklahomans and now
live in California. Her brother is
a sophomore and attending the
University of Oklahoma, as well.
Sooner sports, Thunder
basketball, reading, and
spending time with friends
and family are Morgan’s
favorite things to do when away
from school and helping at
Touchmark.
