5. Climate Climate in the Matterhorn is the same as in the alps, when you are over 3000 meters ( known as the névé zone) there is constantly snow throughout every season of the year. Once you get down to between 2000 and 3000 meters high then you will see flowers and grass because it’s not as cold as the névé zone. This is called the Alpine zone. Once you are underneath the alpine zone, and into the subalpine zone you’ll see a lot more vegetation, such as trees. Underneath that zone it’s bearable for humans and animals and a lot of farming takes place.
