  1. Total numbers of boards conducted by Pers-480 approximately 100-115 depending on breakdown involving roughly 50,000 eligible officers per year.
  2. Notification of selection board membership typically takes place 30 to 45 days before the selection board convenes. Applicants not selected as board members are not informed of their non-selection until the board convenes due to the high number of board members that cannot fulfill their obligations and must be replaced.
  3. Administrative action to withhold or withdraw may not be directed as punishment or used as an alternative action to the proper disposition of misconduct
