21. CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT (CPU)
• The CPU gains the member into the
NR(NOSC) CPU does not effect AC losses
in NSIPS.
• Updates the member's MAS code and billet
information in NSIPS-R.
• Submits a request for IDT(NR Unit) orders
through IDT Order Writer.
• CPU provides gain package including a
copy of orders to the TA, Sailor and NOSC.

complete a NAVY reserve contract for a
minimum of 3 years prior to their release
from active duty.
• Sailors with a SELRES PTS quota can fulfill
this obligation in the SELRES (Contract
generated by PERS 97 CTO).
• Sailors who don’t have a SELRES PTS
quota must obligate service in the IRR

25. INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION PAY
• Commands must forward the signed original
ISP Page 13 and DD 214 to PERS 93 for
Sailors who will complete their ISP obligation
in the IRR and to PERS 97 for Sailors who
will be affiliating in the SELRES.
– Ensure Sailors who are going on TDY or
Terminal leave are identified and reported to
PERS 93 and PERS 97 (CTO) so their contracts
can be sent prior to the Sailors departure from
the command.

26. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO
• Complete your affiliation documents prior to
going on terminal leave (Reserve Affiliation
Screening checklist, Reserve Contract, Page 13’s).
• Select the NOSC closest to were you intend
to reside (This is not always the NOSC in your state)
• Don’t report to the NOSC until the date
specified by your TA.
• Contact the CTO/your TA while on terminal
leave if you have any questions or changes
occur.

28. TERA
• NAVADMIN’s 025/12 and 140/12 outline the
eligibility requirements and application
procedures for TERA.
– 15 years of active service as of 1 September
2012. Only Sailors whose ADSD is 2 September
of earlier are eligible.
– Applications must be submitted by 15 June
2012.
– Must be retired NLT 1 September 2012
– May retire prior to 1 September 2012 if approved
and they have 15 years active service.
29. TERA
• STE may be requested if your EAOS is prior
to 1 September and you will have 15 years of
Service on 1 September.
– Submitted to PERS 81 via CO (by direction auth)
– Request should not result in the Sailors SEAOS
exceeding September 2012.
