  1. Who is Netchex? Well Netchex was founded by 2 ADP executives that broke away with a vision of delivering web-based, integrated solutions in the employer services marketplace. We are nearing 2000 employers and have clients in all 50 states. If you look at that market today there are a lot of companies that might have solutions in these areas but NONE are truly integrated end to end and web-based. This may sound like a small distinction, but has tremendous advantages for the client, employee, benefits agent or other trusted advisors. Who is the competition? ADP and Paychex are the biggest ones…..and a host of smaller providers. To my knowledge NONE of them offer a package to allow broker access like this. They have developed Full Administrative solutions, Full Compliance solutions now allow you to wrap with product capabilities should their be any gaps in the benefits offering. Benefits is usually the 2 largest line item in a company’s P&L, so they want to enroll it, report on it, and manage it correctly. We do all of the areas of this wheel very well, but for the purpose of this presentation I will focus on BENEFITS.
  2. Until now, a lack of technology has kept most processes around managing benefits to manual processes. Let’s take a look at a typical company in a Traditional Benefits setup. After the business gets up and running and is able to make payroll: The owner usually looks to implement a Health plan and maybe some other core benefits, and so finds a broker….who selects a carrier. Next they may look to start a retirement plan…..and most times with another broker who works with a different carrier/provider. Somewhere along the way the Aflac or Colonial rep gets in the door and starts selling worksite products Not to mention COBRA compliance and FSA. Next thing you know, you have THIS. As brokers/agents, HR professionals…..THIS has been our business model, but THIS is an administrative burden and a manual process. For each of these areas they have to Track Eligibility, Update Voluntary Deductions, Enroll with the carrier, Reconcile & Pay bills and Reference PAYROLL each time they perform one of these functions.
  3. THIS is the future for our clients! Integrated and web based. An integrated experience means that when HR touches an employees record ONCE in payroll it immediately updates each of the appropriate sections of the wheel. ESS – Full transparency from the bottom to the top. We can push data up to ADMIN or out to Employees Dedicated Service Support – for your clients to lean on when they need help. No 800#...they get their own service rep every time. Reporting Tools – Once they being to take advantage of the system, they have all the data…..Now we give them easy ways to get it out so they can make real time business decisions against their activity.
  4. Clients love us because they get a consolidated & integrated experience and customer service at a level that our competitors don’t match. - Let’s look at the activity from an HR or Administrator’s perspective. Notice on the homepage it alerts them to the benefits activity for this month and next. If we click either of those links we are taken to the Activity Manager for more detail.
  5. Here you see the activity manager or their “Benefits Dashboard” Notice that it is showing Michael McCallister is eligible for these plans and we can act on his record from here. Also notice that Ringo Starr has enrolled off site through his Employee Self Service portal This allows us to push this process down to the employee level if we want, but not allow them to bypass the administrator. Now the Admin will Confirm or Deny If they confirm then 3 things happen instantaneously 1. Voluntary deduction(S) are updated to match this employee’s elections 2. They are put on the CCR so that there is a record of who needs to enrolled at the carrier level 3. COBRA notices are queued to go out…..remember COBRA is a 2 part process and a General Rights Notice must go out upon ENROLLMENT in a COBRA continuable plan or you will likely lose any lawsuit. Lastly, we can handle Open Enrollment and Plan Renewals in the same manner. Let’s say we want to know more about what Ringo Starr has elected before we approve it……just click on his name and:
  6. The administrator can see which plans have been ELECTED and which coverage levels were selected As well as which plans were DECLINED. Now we can confirm or deny based on this review.
  7. Benefits Administration is not just about tracking eligibility and enrolling. Since the employer fronts the money, meaning they pay the bill at the beginning of the month, and collect through payroll deductions over the course of the month…….we need to make sure that all of those deductions are collected or else the employer has a cash leak. INTEGRATION means that a tool like this Benefits Reconciliation Report is available at an instant. Since we know “Scheduled deductions” and we know “Actual Deductions” from payroll admin can easily identify which employees we have missing deductions for. Missing deductions happen very frequently for a number of reasons including: Employee takes vacation without having enough PTO Hourly worker doesn’t earn enough to meet full deduction Employee on leave Terminated early in the month A host of other reasons
  8. Employees love Netchex, because the same place many of them go to Punch In/Out is the same place they go to Enroll in Benefits View their W2 or last paycheck, get a copy if they need it View their work schedule, etc. Get Summary of Benefits statements.
  9. Employees can enroll at home with their spouse or when ever is convenient for them. Comparing plans and costs is available from this screen Checking to see if their doctor is In-Network is available on this screen Any plan documentation is available for them to print and file if they wish to keep for their records. They can take their time and walk through their entire benefits package making elections and understanding each benefit.
  10. This is only one report, but the employees really enjoy having this statement so they can understand EXACTLY what they have in the way of Benefits. They can also view Total Comp statements if the employer chooses to let them see it.
  11. Brokers love it because they now get transparency to clients’ benefits activity and ability to offer carrier connections for smaller employers that otherwise they couldn’t deliver. By transparency I mean that I will get a login and have access to these reports for all my clients that are on Netchex. When asked, most brokers complain that at renewal time…..their biggest delay is waiting on HR to get them an updated Census. What if you could just login to Netchex and pull an accurate “to the minute” Census for ANY of your Netchex clients, without having to call or e-mail HR!! You can see who is eligible but not participating, you can see who is enrolled at what level and even how many dependents are covered.
  12. An INTEGRATED broker experience means that you or I can login to Netchex and see exactly WHO has been added, deleted or modified without having to call the company. You would be surprised how many credits we can avoid by having someone on your staff check this once a month. We can call HR and say “Hey I saw that Art Garfunkle moved to Employee Only, but he is still Employee + Spouse on Humana. Do you want me to take her off the plan?” Clients are blown away by that kind of service.
  13. An INTEGRATED Broker experience means that I can bring tools to the client that don’t create extra work for the employer. Other Total Compensation engines require that I ask HR for all of this data in Excel, then I have to turn that data around and plug it into a different module. Integration means that this is updated with every payroll run, no more end of the year data mining to excel and importing to a Total Comp engine.
