Responsibilities
Initially Consulted and later contracted to assist management in a small (45+ employees) newly established venture
financed Japanese process automation engineering firm/Equipment manufacturer with global business objective. Our
primary focus was on making and selling unique equipment for Volume production of low cost RFID inlays and tags.
Initial machines sold to Alien Technology for I/C Strap handling and Inlay production in conjunction with FSA Process.
My specialization was focused on establishing and managing relationships, and technical product sales specifically
related to RFID industry production equipment and manufacture of RFID Inlay and Tags appropriate for varied
applications and volumes as required in logistics, supply chain, retail, healthcare/ pharmaceutical, aviation/aerospace,
manufacturing and item level utilization as well as other vertical markets.
At this young company we all wore many hats. I assisted and reported directly to the CEO, as well as CTO and CFO as
required. The work entailed advice and coordination, with management for many areas including:
             Specific Global Market Research
             Corporate Strategy and Planning.
             Primary focus was Interfacing, Managing and Establishing; Sales, Channels, Networks, Partner relations
              and introducing the companies unique new technology and engineering services.
             Related due diligence and research.
             Identified new fields where companies IP could be applied; Printed (organic/non-silicon) electronics,
              amorphous photovoltaic cell creation, etc.
In addition, these efforts were frequently done in tandem with many other required functions:
               IP positioning and strategy.
               Preparing and reviewing legalese used in specific NDA’s and confidentiality agreements.
               Contracting and interpreting legal advice and services in a liaison capacity.
               Arranging meetings and presentations with Venture Capital and other potential investors.
               Sourcing and evaluating vendors and material supplies.
               Soliciting competitive pricing and bids from various O.E.M. vendors.

               Made I/C vendors aware of advanced high volume production technology for cooperation in future

               Encouraged and later convinced key customer to make proprietary cost saving and technological

Reason for leaving: Slower than anticipated economies of scale in industry growth globally and complications related
to companies business plan and IPO aspirations along with venture capitalization and other financial concerns,
interrupted this contract.
CJ’s Consulting/Clever Joe’s Language School Akashi, Japan
Owner/Managing Director (2000-2004)
Responsibilities
 Established, owned and operated this business consultancy, office and a language school West of Kobe,
              Japan.
             The School facilitated instruction in English, French, Italian, and Spanish classes for over 100 individual
              students and maintained 4 staff.
             The consulting entailed: Document support and editing, Overseas client and vendor negotiations,
              Logistics administration reviews, Soliciting competitive bids from suppliers and freight vendors, Sales
              training, specialized language training of staff commensurate with work function.
             Hired or subcontracted and trained all new consultants, corporate language instructors and office staff.
             Trained consultants and instructors on meeting clients’ needs and methodology.
             Acquired oversaw and managed all accounts and corporate contracts. Managed office and maintained

               Prior to returning to the U.S. the business and accounts were sold and financed to win/win scenario for
                both new owner and clients. Majority of accounts have been retained and are still active. Maintain
