U.S History
 World War II was the most destructive war in
history today.
 The war cost millions of dollars and severe
damage to many areas.
 So many innocent lives were taken from so
many innocent children, women, and men.
 There were lots of battles that took many loves
from all sorts of countries.
 1,600,000 lives were lost in the Battle of
Stalingrad.
 Russia was the largest country with causalities
of 21 million.
5/24/2013 3
 A war fought from 1939 to 1945, in which Great
Britain, France, the Soviet Union, the United
States, China, and other allies defeated
Germany, Italy, and Japan.

 The genocide of European Jews and others by
the Nazis during World War II.
5/24/2013 5
 When the Nazi’s were first getting rid of the
Jews and many other races, they used the
method of shooting them. The Nazi’s then
found out that they could save money, ammo,
and time by just gassing the Jews. Gassing Jews
meant they could kill more in a smaller period
of time,.
 The first gassing of the Jews was held at the
Chelmno Extermination Camps.
5/24/2013 6
 Before they found new methods to deport
Jews, they had to travel in terrible and
disgusting cattle wagons. The wagons had no
food, water, ventilation, etc. By the time they
got to there destination, everyone would
already be dead.
5/24/2013 7
 Auschwitz was the biggest out of all the
concentration camps.
 Auschwitz initially served as a detention center
for political prisoners. However, it evolved into
a network of camps where Jewish people and
other perceived enemies of the Nazi state were
exterminated, often in gas chambers, or used as
slave labor.
