2. My words..... My purpose here is to give a few questions on questions on shares and stocks for aptitude tests . I welcome your suggestions. I also request you to help me in spreading social entrepreneurship across the globe – for which I need support of you people – not of any VIP. With your help, I can spread the ideas – for which we stand....

3. WHAT IS THE COST OF 100 SHARES AT 4% DISCOUNT AND BROKERAGE IS .25% ? 100 -4 = 96 ADD .25% DISCOUNT = 100 * 96 +.25% =9624 ANSWER

4. By investing Rs. 1200 at a 5.5% stock, a person earns Rs. 77. What was the market price of the stock ? 77 * 100/5.5 = 1400 1400 is the face value, the market price is : 1200/1400 * 100 = 85.71 or 86 approx. Answer

5. By investing Rs 2000 at a 10% stock, a person earns Rs. 150. What was the market price per share? 150 * 100/10 = 1500 the face value is 1500 market price is : 2000/1500 * 100 = 133.33 for face value of 100 answer

6. What return can a person expect by investing at 96 in 9% stock ? 9/96 * 100 =9.38% answer

7. A person invests partly in 3% stock at 96 and partly in 4% stock at 120. to get equal dividend, he must invest in what ratio ? Options : 16:15 3:4 4:5 3:5 Suppose we invest 9600 in first case, we get 300. we will get 300 from secon option by investing : 120/4 * 300 = 9000 ratio is : 9600: 9000 or 16:15 answer

8. A person earned Rs. 100 by investing in a stock at 120. The stock gives 25% return. How much did the person invest ? Person earns 25 by investing 120, so he must invest 480 to earn 100. answer

9. Put these stocks in descending order (best first) : 5% at 80, 12% at 96, 22% at 120 and 30% at 150 Compare two at a time. Simply do cross multiplication to find the stock with more returns Multiply 80 to 12 and 5 to 96, we know that 12% at 96 gives more returns. Similarly compare other values. Alternatively, take LCM of 80, 96, 120 and 150 and assume that that money is invested in each case, what return do you get ? Answer = put these in reverse order.

10. Which is better : 24% at 120 and 30% at 150 They are equal let us invest 1800 in each. In the first case we get : 15 shares, we get 15*24 = 360 in the second case we get : 1800/150 = 12 stocks. We get (12*30) = 360 thus in both these cases, we get same return answer

11. Ankit invested in 20% stock at 120. Vipin wants to invest in equally good 33% stocks. What should be the market price of the shares where Vipin should invest ? It will be in the same ratio. = 198 answer
