Writing takes time and can be difficult for any student, much less a student with limited English. Many students struggle on the Reading and Writing portion of the NYSESLAT. Teachers have to contend with time constraints, multi level/multi grade classes, and a gamut of other issues. Teachers will be introduced to the tools they need to help their students achieve proficiency in writing. These ideas are streamlined into specific and modeled steps that students can remember. Students will connect each of the fingers on their hand with a step in the writing process. Teachers will learn how to model the writing process through sequential pre-writing lessons and strategies.
