3. legalising marijuana presentation improved
1.
2. Our concept is to make a documentary on whether Marijuana should be
legalised for medicinal reasons.
We will be interviewing someone who suffers from chronic back pain
and see how marijuana affects them and if it is positive or negative. We
will also be interviewing Peter Reynolds, who is President of CLEAR.
CLEAR is an organisation that supports the cannabis law reform. We are
also working on getting an interview with a political
representative to see what the government think about this.
In order to get information about how marijuana can influence the mind
and body we are going to interview a scientist to see what their opinions
are. We are also planning on interviewing an illegal drug dealer on how the
legalisation of marijuana will affect his business.
The target audience for this documentary will be anyone from 18 upwards
as it will have some drug use featured in it.

4. We have made contact with two organisations
who support the government reformation of
cannabis: - Peter Reynolds, CLEAR
- Jason Reed, LEAP
We have also conducted various
vox pops with people around
college and the local area to see
the public opinions. From these
we have found that many people
are for the legalisation of
medicinal marijuana.
5. As our primary research suggested many people are supportive of the drug
reform. We even found out that the Liberal Democrats want to legalise medicinal
marijuana as they think it will bring down crime.
There are also views that the legalisation of marijuana will lead to more people
pretending to be ill in order to get it as you will need a prescription.
There are also negative side effects of marijuana.
The short term ones are:
◦ Sensory distortion
◦ Panic
◦ Anxiety
◦ Poor coordination of movement
The long term effects are:
◦ Reduced resistance to common illnesses (colds, bronchitis, etc.)
Suppression of the immune system
◦ Growth disorders
◦ Increase of abnormally structured cells in the body
◦ Reduction of male sex hormones
◦ Rapid destruction of lung fibers and lesions (injuries) to the brain could be permanent
◦ Study difficulties: reduced ability to learn and retain information
◦ Apathy, drowsiness, lack of motivation
◦ Personality and mood changes
6. The places we will be filming in will be:
◦ Someone’s house (the sufferer of back pain)
◦ A pod in college (the interviews with professionals)
◦ Outside – sitting on a wall in Camden (drug dealer)
◦ A science lab in college (scientist)
◦ We will also be filming cutaways of a drug deal in a
park and the backpain sufferer having a hard time
getting around.
◦ There will also be footage from inside the Houses
of Parliament of them discussing the Cannabis Law
Reformation and a scientist doing research into
marijuana in a science laboratory.
