7. Work Session: Listening for
Understanding
Transformations will be placed on cards of equal size. You
will be paired with a partner. You will alternate turns
explaining to your partner how to re-create a figure
and its transformation on a card. You will need to use
key words such as rotation, reflection, translation,
dilation, scale factor, coordinates, vertices, and
corresponding sides/angles. At no time may the card
be shown to your partner who is creating the
transformation on his/her own coordinate plane. As a
final piece of information, the student drawing the
transformations must write on his/her paper the
transformations that took place to give him/her the
transformed figure.
