menginterpretasikan makna tanpa harus
memahami setiap kata.



Anak dengan keterbatasan pengetahuan
bahasanya bisa menggunakannya secara
kreatif



Anak lebih sering belajar secara tidak
langsung dari pada belajar langsung



Anak lebih senang bila belajar melalui
tindakan



Anak sudah bisa berbicara
Teknik


Expansion: untuk membantu memperpanjang
ujaran anak, ujaran anak cenderung berpola oleh
karenanya tambahan pola perlu diberikan.

Anak : “I see cat.”
Guru : “ Yes, I see a big, white cat.”


Correction: Untuk meningkatkan kualitas ujaran
anak

Anak : ”Me want cookies.”
Guru : “Yes, I want cookies.”


Extension: Guru mengucapkan untuk
memberikan informasi baru

Anak : “My car goes.”
Guru : “Yes, and some go fast and some go slow.”


Modeling: Ini adalah penggunaan struktur
bahasa orang dewasa untuk menjawab
pertanyaan dari anak, oleh sebab itu tetap
dibatasi kosakatanya. Orang dewasa sebagai
model bagi anak.



Open-ended Question: Memberikan pertanyaan
pada anak agar anak bisa bergerak kearah yang
lebih dari kalimat pertamanya.

Anak : Truck broke.”

Guru : “How did the truck break?”
